The Espada 1st Place flowchart is the new Espada .500 flowchart.

Losing our 8th straight road series while remaining in first place would be something

Wouldn't mind seeing him at some point this month instead of trotting Gusto out there for 3+ every five days.
Looks like he posted a 1.17 ERA in the PCL with 34 punch in 23 innings. If I'm remembering correctly a few years ago when he was popping there were command worries, seems like he still might battle it. 13 walks in those 23 innings.
Very similar mechanics to Javi with maybe a tick or two more velo. Changeup looks like his best secondary offering.

We need to give Walter and Ullola some run with the big club before spending more prospect capital on another stating pitcher.

I saw a graphic where the Astros have the easiest schedule remaining by a significant amount of percentage points
With that in mind and presently sitting in 1st place, any thought of moving Framber at deadline is probably not realistic
Do we know (never with the Astros) how much longer Arrighetti will be?

Yeah TK and Blummer were talking about it on the broadcast last night. Want to say our remaining schedule is around the .460 range and the next closest is north of .480
Unfortunately for us, we love to play down to opponents level

Ullola
He seems to have good stuff but a bit wild it looks like. He's hovering around 6 walks per 9 in AA.

I'd guess right after the All-Star Break for Arrighetti, who won't need a ton of ramp up time in the minors because he didn't have an elbow/shoulder related injury.

Ullola is going to walk some dudes. Whether he figures it out to be a reliable starter or ends up as a reliever will be determined over time. I think he can give us some useful MLB innings as a starter or long relief soon. Let's see how he handles it before the trade deadline though.

How is it June 5th and we’re still seeing Walker in cleanup?

Dealing Framber is a fantasy. The Astros aren’t blowing up a team in playoff contention, lol.

Honestly, there is no spot in the order that would benefit from him being there
At least he has had some timely HRs
That is all that I can muster. The Baseball Tonight crew could probably put together a slam piece on Dana about this signing like they did on the SF GM over the Adames signing, but we know that won’t happen

There’s no fantasy involved
I would hope Framber could get signed long term at a value close to his worth and talk of dealing him would be a moot point
But if we know he’s gone, and we’re missing necessary pieces to get to a WS, what is it worth to get one start from him in one playoff series? A game just like last year that we lose at home anyway.
I realize this team could go on to put itself in a position, esp with Yed back and healthy, to win a playoff series, even compete for a pennant. But not with the present offensive production.
I can’t be willfully ignorant and laugh at the thought of picking up an almost MLB ready piece from a more ready WS contender for a half season of Framber, if I know he’s not coming back, and we can’t score enough playoff runs to get to a WS
Keep in mind, every player that was an integral part of our ‘17 and/or ‘22 WS wins that we let go has been immediately replaced by someone with equal or better production and stayed healthier for less expense moving forward
While Springer, Correa, and Bregman have often been injured with no production, even when contributing, they can’t match their replacements

If you’re saying they should try to get a bat or two, I could see that but for the pitching injuries.
Posted on 6/5/25 at 5:54 pm to NIH
Nah, my stance is strictly the future and based on NOT fantasy, chasing an impossible WS chance, which we will know a lot more on come ASB
Rather go all in on the reboot and build the future. Trading Tucker was only one piece. I don’t want to see us slow down the process of staying truly relevant.
The question remains, are we truly relevant? Let’s see. Offensively we are not. Who cares if we stay on top of pitching numbers in the league if we can’t score enough runs to win playoff series
