We get to actually watch the Stros lose on Fox this week. How joyous!

En route to NYC for the game tonight. Hopefully spark a change in fortune.

The random area in the middle of North Carolina is confusing. Is there a pocket of die hard Yankees/stros fans in NC?

I still remember where I was the last time the Astros won a game. Yed was still a wide eyed rookie with his eyes set on league domination. It was a simpler time.

I stopped following each AB yesterday, when I had enough of our selfish style of play. IDC what analytics says when it comes to one run late in a close game. You don’t have to bunt, but you can still situationally approach your AB.
My personal opinion of Bregman as a player took a hit yesterday. Straw leadoff double. I went back and watched his AB. Had a pitch to hit to right side, yet pulled every swing, including his 3-2 K pitch. Later in a 1 run game game batting leadoff, he swings 3-0 for a lazy fly to CF.
Chirinos, who admittedly doesn’t have the same bat skills as Bregman, takes a first pitch strike outside corner after a Gurriel leadoff double. Perfect pitch to get a job done.
BTW, on both occasions that we never attempted to advance the runner (and I don’t mean bunt), the next batter put balls in play that would have scored the run.
And I understand this possibly is a result of the organization’s philosophy more than the individual, but the Astros need 1 game out of 4 to secure HFA in case of a tie, and we all know how are games went in 2017 ALCS in NY and HOU.

I like our chances.
When something is broken and you need it to be fixed, you look for a baw. When the General Lee was broken, the Duke boys took it to this baw and he got them up and running again:
The Astros are broken. They need a baw to fix them. Is there more of a baw in the majors than Wade Miley?
He is from Loranger, Louisiana, so by definition he is a baw. Baws fix broken things. Wade Miley is the right man for the job.

Ever since the AD trade was announced, the Stros haven’t won a game.
Coincidence? Who the f*ck knows.

In a baws league he is the bawest of them all. At least since Colby rasmus retired

I assume they won't spark until George returns from his rehab which should be over Sunday. Springer needs to get paid.

Which is why I think tonight's game is VERY important. Win tonight, and you win the season series and could greatly help you with seeding. We need to start rolling again.

Wahoocs, good post. We are not playing very good situational baseball. As you explained, we had several opportunities to move runners with no outs from second base and didn’t even try. It’s not like bregman and chirinos are incapable of hitting the ball to the right side. And it’s really the whole team when we go into these funks.
Now this isn’t the team’s biggest concern but I’m disappointed in bregman’s offensive play this year. He’s too homerun focused right now and his avg is suffering because of it. He’s too good of a hitter to be at .260. What was wrong with all the doubles he hit last year and passing the torch to the next guy? Maybe he feels he has to do more with the other guys hurt. Idk. But he needs to be better for the team to be better.
And Hinch needs to be better too. Nobody knows what he’s saying privately about those at bats that didn’t move runners but his postgame explanation is “We’re just not getting the big hits”. Well no shite, AJ. 7 hits and 7 walks yesterday. 14 baserunners and only 1 scored? Seems to happen to this team more frequently than it should. Let’s hope we’re not in that funk come playoff time because we’re not the type of team that looks to move runners and manufacture runs.
