While noticing that the Astros are on a 7-game winning streak with a bunch of bad teams lined up on the schedule, I went into the Google to see what I could learn about MLB's longest winning streak.

It's 26 games, belonging to the 1916 New York Giants, with one tie game mixed in that didn't end the streak. The 1916 New York Giants also had a 17-game winning streak in the same season. Somehow, despite both of those streaks, they finished in 4th place in the NL at 86-66! That's hard to believe.

The second longest is 22 games by the 2017 Cleveland Indians.

The 2002 A’s had a 20-game winning streak, and if I recall correctly, it was their usual regular-season bullshite stew of comebacks and lucky breaks. The result was a first-round playoff loss to the Twins. Go figure.

James is still only 28. All he has to do is harness the blazing fastball with one decent breaking ball to be a quality setup man. He may never do it consistently but it's not impossible.
