Any and all Astros front office personnel should be preparing for the future NOW
This manager and this team are not competing on a league wide level
Stop wasting time and assets, Crane

Who could’ve seen Abreu giving up the game winning run

Horrible GM and horrible manager continue to slowly kill of a perennial contender. It’s gotten worse year by year.
First year, there was enough old guard and player leadership to at least make the post season only to lose in the wild card.
Next year, they find a way to blow the division and completely miss the playoffs.
And third year are looking at one of the worst records in baseball.
Complain about injuries all you want but two awful hires at GM and manager are the reason for this, and it’s not changing as long as those two morons are in charge.

They’re gone. Espada and Brown came into the season as lame ducks a year before a likely lockout. I think the only way they would’ve survived is a miracle run to the playoffs, which is not happening.

I hear Verlander is nearing a return—we may be able to swing a blockbuster deal for him at the trade deadline to make another run.

This team has been below average to bad since that Dodger series last year.
They had that outlier stretch before that gave them enough cushion to contend for the division…game winning hits from Cooper Hummel and Zack Short among the highlights.
I still maintain their refusal to address the OF…bad last year, simply putrid this year…is at the core of the struggles. I believe the reason for that is they still considered Altuve and Correa as superstar players who could pick up the slack for the poor outfield. Not only is Altuve no longer a superstar, he’s clearly on the decline. Correa, before his injury was still a solid player, but again not someone who can carry the team. A good GM has to recognize that. Whether Dana didn’t recognize it or if he did and Crane wouldn’t let him address it…who knows? The one guy they went out and got, had his swing ruined by our dogshit hitting coaches. Said guy is now in Toronto hitting 296 with an 804 OPS. Granted he’s only a play against RHP but I’ll take that over what we’re trotting out there now.

Agree with you all. If there was any chance at all to turn things around and go on a run, this was it. This was your chance to sweep the worst team in baseball in the Angels and get some momentum going, but instead you of course lose 2 out of 3.
This isn't April. The "it's still early" excuse doesn't work. It's now June 11. Losing to the shitty Angels is unacceptable if you're worth a shite, which we clearly are not.
We are who we are and I've said it all year long. Trade anyone with any value and rebuild. It's beyond time to start over.

Not winning a series against the Angels is inexcusable. Splitting one and losing the other so far should be a fireable offense for at least a couple of people.
