I think I'd rather see Leon stick at shortstop (so far, that part hasn't been the problem but can he hit?) while maybe signing Marte to fill the CF void.

I have a lot more faith in Pena as a long term SS answer than Leon, it really sucks he’s going to lose a year of at bats though

I don't think the Astros do, considering they made the decision to play Leon at SS before Pena got hurt.
Maybe they can get Baez to take the 5-6 year deal to replace CC. You can live with elite defense and a wild swinger who actually produces at the plate at a surprisingly high level.

Likely so, he would probably be on the higher end of what we would want to spend I think. I just don’t see the profile aging well. If he were forced to take a year type prove it deal sure but 5-6 years scares the hell out of me with him

I think he leads the NL in RBIs now after a slow start so there will be no prove it deal for Baez.

Yeah I think they will be different price points. If we are talking the same money I’d rather have Story personally. I really like the Marte idea as a free agent CF
