Me, upon seeing an Astros win last night:

The Astros have not won back-to-back series this season. Prepare yourselves accordingly.

And with Burrows throwing today I would expect this streak to continue

I’d like to note that the last time I went to Mexico, Jose Abreu was DFA’d while I was boarding my flight. Maybe Espada and/or Dana will get the axe this time

Hunter could be going on a rehab assignment this weekend. That’s some pretty good news.

But with the way the offense is going going to get all of these pitching reinforcements just to lose a bunch of 4-2 games

Vazquez. The DATs catcher. To be honest I’ve completely forgotten about Yainer since he’s been out

And then of course, vintage pre 2025 Peña offering at pitches a foot outside.

Trading Yordan Pena and Brown (the three guys with real big time value) isn’t a reboot, that’s very much tearing it down. You’re going to suck dick for 3 or maybe 4 years again. I’m not saying that to argue against it, but let’s be honest about what the outcome will be. And those deals should occur after the season with a fresh front office in place

Pena I would be fine trading this year I guess. The other should not happen until new decision makers are in place

I like Vaquez but he needs to work on blocking pitches. He has too many get passed him

Thank goodness he’s already at 77 pitches, or we’d probably be on 20K watch.

I think you can get a sufficient haul for Pena + some combo of Brown, Walker, Parades, etc. I don’t think you entertain trading Yordan unless the market is completely fricked (which it won’t be for those positions). I don’t think you entertain trading someone like Yordan lightly just because the rest of the team sucks.

I think what worries me is how bad some of these young guys like Cam and Matthews look. We haven’t had a consistently good young hitter come up under Dana.

I would 100% trade Brown after the year as well. They will not resign him, they arguably shouldn’t anyway, and the elbow surgery could come at any point in the next year or two. I think that’s a no brainer, and if he comes back and pitches like he has they will get an absolute haul for him

Man Burrows loves throwing that flat 94 mph right down the middle.

He’s kind of a pussy on the mound. No dog in him. Sad

See if you can trade Burrows for a bag of balls. He's a loser.

Vazquez should have challenged the 1-2 call on Caratini, but there's no way that should have led to a 3-run HR after going no on, two out and a strike away from the inning.

Burrows is a guy with decent stuff but doesn't know how to win.

My prediction is they will make an attempt at a modified rebuild where we trade obvious pieces while still looking to bring in free agents and some younger vets through trades. I think people wanting a 2011 style rebuild are going to be disappointed.
