Just as soon as you start to feel good about the starting pitching, 18.1 w/ 5 ER over the weekend (and Lambert probably deserved a better fate) it gets to Imai's turn to blow up the bullpen for the week after getting in a nice groove.
I'm sure Dragon has a more in depth recap, but off the top of my head:
- Tuve to the IL with a grade 2 oblique
- JP traveled with the team from Houston, he will play in 2 games this series
- Jake should be right behind him, didn't see anything about him making the flight
- Pearson should be activated for this series as well. They scraped making him a starter, think he was sitting 97-98 on his rehab appearances and bumped 101.
Another tough 3 city, 10 game road trip to close out the month. 5 games out of the division

Week in review:
- Dropped 3 of 4 vs Seattle
- Took 2 vs Rangers because we own those frauds no matter how bad we are
- Spaghetti and Teng were lights out vs Rangers. Whereas Eovaldi was lights out yesterday
- Shewmake and Zach Cole are showing some potential
- The bats have definitely cooled down. Avg less than 3 runs per game in May
- Injuries continue to run rampant
- Dana Brown says he's not worried, which worries me even more
- Chandler if you're reading this, you're still a bitch and your media credential is useless
Injury updates:
- Brown: 15-day IL; rehab assignment beginning this week
- Altuve: IL; oblique injury; expect 6+ weeks
- Pena: Traveling with the team to Minnesota; expected to play 2 games
- Hader: 60-day IL; 5 more appearances and then he'll be back
- Correa: RIP
- Loperfido: 10-day IL; quad strain; no update
- Wesneski: 60-day IL; no update
- Javier: 15-day IL; shoulder; no update
- Pearson: 15-day IL; elbow; rehab assignment complete and should join team in Minnesota
- Meyers: Should be activated today
- Trammell: 10-day IL; groin; no update
Looking ahead:
3 @ Twins
Off Thursday
3 @ Cubs
Side note: I'll be out for Cubs series. Will be in Cancun for my bachelor party. Might check in if I am capable of working a phone. I may defer next week's Week in Review to someone else, but they must include the Chandler Rome disclaimer

Rome's article on Smith was interesting. Hitting coach says Smith has not been able to take his great swing from the cages to the games. Does he need AAA time to gain confidence? Sounds like it.

Looks like Pena will start and leadoff. Cole to the bench

Bases loaded no outs T1 and didn’t score a single run. I hate this fricking team so much

We didn’t even get the ball out of the infield.

Flake-san hasn't imploded yet.

Well shite two games in a row letting a fat shitty first baseman be the outcome in the game. That wasn’t even a bad pitch Bell hit out
Posted on 5/18/26 at 7:37 pm to Jwho77
Have very generous of us to allow a guy who has a .600 OPS to hit 2 HRs against us
Posted on 5/18/26 at 7:49 pm to texastiger38
Pena swinging at first pitch 3 times
Posted on 5/18/26 at 7:56 pm to CSinLC
Tough if that’s if for the night. Imai was much better today. One mistake changeup, and then just a good piece of hitting by Bell
Posted on 5/18/26 at 8:07 pm to TigerFan91
Yeah no walks for the night which has been his undoing most games. Hopefully he can build off of it

Brewers are really good again, have a deep farm system, and need a shortstop.
Them, Atlanta, Yankees. Tampa all could use an upgrade there if that’s the direction the org wants to go with JP

Well, when’s the big day? I’m sure the olds/DAT elders can scrape up enough jack to send you a gargantuan bag of dicks as a wedding gift

Goodness, wait for the rain delay. Get a pick off, then first two runners on again tonight but GIDP and weak fly ball.
This offense is really bad

In a game with a 2 hour weather delay, Zach Dezenzo is the worst thing thats happened all night.
