Nathan sucked last year, but was decent the year before. I guess they just want to see how he throws once his rehab is done with. No real risk in doing so.
as for the Cubs bullpen, it has been pretty reliable. They have the lowest batting average against in all of baseball.

Not surprisingly, they aren't throwing the left-handed rookies to the wolves tonight:

Good...it does give us a couple good options off the bench against RH relievers tho.

I guess white could catch in an emergency if you had to. He caught some this winter. Absolute emergency.

Funny that Jake gets the 9 spot and Gomess was 6/7 spot no matter how bad he was. Just an observation

Start of the season, take two.
Out with the old, in with the new.

Now if we could get rid of coach Kilmer

It'd be nice to have Keuchel not completely suck arse. Tonight's game will go a very long way in my outlook for the rest of the week

I don't know if he is hurt, or just has some bruised ribs. But I don't think he'll be able to pitch himself out of his current funk.

Could be contagious.

No matter what happens tonight we come back with our ace pitching on long rest tomorrow so should be able to take that one.

@brianmctaggart
Moran and Kemp will start tomorrow. Hinch said he sees Moran getting more time than Kemp.

"Jake will do Jake things and find himself in the middle of an important play," Hinch on Marisnick.
