Yep and the most frustrating part to me is that feels like it didn’t have to be that way. Maybe I’m wrong and this was always going to be the outcome. But I think we’ll look back to that week after the 22 title with Click’s departure and Bagwell’s emergence and point to that being the beginning of the end. I’ll never forget that mumbling meathead downplaying analytics before the champagne even dried.

Unbelievable that Crane put so much stock in that guy.

And full disclosure, Bagwell is one of my favorite Astros. But man, did he ever become a villain in my book.

Yes. And the rebuild has to start with firing Dana, then dismantling this team for as many prospects as possible - even Yordon. Rip the bandaid off because not only are they a terrible team in Houston, their farm is a barren wasteland as well.

You know it’s bad when every farm report is about two guys only

This team sucks serious fricking arse.

Trade everybody, rebuild, and start all over. Great run I will never forget, but it's way past time.

Getting rid of Click and going back to Stone Age baseball was the direct result of the sign stealing stuff.

Crane got embarrassed and turned to the guys telling him to look at the back of the baseball cards

I hear ya on Crane getting embarrassed and have maintained he’s been broken since 2020. But the part that doesn’t make sense to me is that after that, he brought Click aboard, they never missed a beat, went to 3 more ALCS in a row, won 2 of them, plus another WS title. I get overhauling after the scandal, but why do it again? He’d crawled through the river of shite and came out clean.

Bagwell and Reggie Jackson let him feel like one of the boys and that their way was best.

And by contrast, I assume Click was still trying to operate like similarly to Luhnow, and Crane didn't like it

Crane made a choice on where to align himself. Dusty and Click butted heads. Remember Click tried to trade for Contreras. Dusty went to Crane to kill the trade. Then we ended up with Vasquez and Dusty barely played him.

By this point Crane had surrounded himself with Reggie and Bagwell as his inner circle. Dusty has bypassed any chain of command to Click and appeals right to the brain trust. We go on to win the world series. See that was Dusty's brand of gritty old school baseball. The way the game was meant to be played. Click had nothing to do with that. Click has been neutered by his field manager and his owner, hes not happy. Dusty has poisoned the well, doesnt want Click there. So they part ways. No coincidence we end up hiring a old school eye test scouting guy to run the show.

All true, as well as what TT38 posted.

fricking Dusty. Unreal how many people think he was responsible for that title. Although I have to be careful what I wish for. His replacement turned out to be worse.

Giving up absolute tanks and letting these cocksuckers stand up on it and pimp it and take 90 seconds to round the bases to get in the dugout makes me sick.

To me, at this point losing 9 straight to them and not playing with pride, is completely a reflection of Espada’s leadership and what the clubhouse thinks of him. You don’t have enough guts to drop your nuts and send a statement to get your team fired up? Bunch of porch puppies cashing a check

Servais was a cocksucker, but he at least had his guys take a stand after the Astros pushed their shite in for five year.

Agreed. At some point I want them to show some fight… even if it is a fight. Stop letting them pimp the homerun and drill someone in the butt next time.

Get a leadoff double, and then get essentially 3 pop-ups and the runner never moves off second. Dogshit, unintelligent baseball.

Correa is the only one who had leadership qualities on this team, and he’s done for the year.

Hunter Brown will probably become a Verlander type for whatever team he signs with long term.
