Wait until you see Yuli's error.

Think Cubans with bad hair who pretend to not try but end up trying too hard.

I think they're fine with a mix of Harris/Devo

Why is it that every time something isn't perfect, Houston MUST go out and get someone no one is going to trade?

Their bullpen is only one of the best in baseball already.

Swapped over to MLB Tonight and they were discussing how they think he's trying to throw too many sliders and it's backfiring on him

He needs to challenge up in the zone with that upper-90's heat to compliment that diving slider. When he tried to spot that flat fastball, he can get hurt. And he doesn't always bury the slider ahead in the count. He's not good enough to close for a championship team right now.

I refuse to watch.

As for the closer debacle, trade for Kelvin Herrera and have the best bullpen in baseball.

God dammit Root just showed Yuli's error

I got no problems with hunch tonight. He made the same defensive changes he always makes and should make in the latter innings. It even worked out offensively when jake got the hit in the 9th. Had a problem with bregmans basepath brain farts. He was lucky aoki stole a base and george followed with an RBI hit to bail him out the first time. If he doesn't screw up the next time its first and second no one out in the 9th.

He made a good move to go to Devo in the 7th. It worked out. We'll never know whether Dallas good have gone a few more. But it was a chilly night and he did have 2 stressful innings in a row.

I don't get the pitch selection on the 0-2 to ellesbury at all. Giles was lucky tonight. He is far from a dominant closer.

He can't trust his fb because he has no movement. He needs to learn a cut fb.

Yuli's error was laughable. An average 4th grader makes that play 99% of the time

Exciting ending to a good win. Get at least one more in New York and we should all be happy

I agree with all that, but Keuchel w a clean 7th would probably only save Devo an inning, b/c I think Hinch is wanting Giles to be a dominant closer, and we would have seen him regardless.

Someone talk to this guy about 0-2 counts and lobbing strikes before walking ANYONE w 2 run leads!!!!!!!!!

I fall along these lines. Going out to get a premium closer is going to hurt our chances of getting a premium starter. As frustrating as he is Giles has only blown 1 save opportunity so far this year. Our bullpen as a whole is a strength and we have other guys we can stick in there if need be.

Id still rather a FOR starter and use whats left to get a back end guy if the price is right.

Hunch is becoming one of the best managers in the game. His gm needs to make the right moves to give him the missing weapons for pennant race and playoff success.

Quit looking at save stats. Look at the quality of his outings and who they are against.

Ashby was right this whole time... Marsnik has the most intriguing arm in the AL outfield.

I mean I get it I dont think hes Herrara, cody allen or chapman but is he bad enough/the rest of the pen without any options that you make what would be a costly move?

Am I comfortable with him in a 1 run game in game 7-HELL no. I just question if what we might have to give up in the process-the prospects for a TOR starter- would cost us the chance to get to said game 7.

Just an aside, the guy who caught Correa's HR, Zach Hemple, who is a professional foul ball and HR catcher that has books written on the subject, has a brother who lives in LA down the street from me.

I can't decide if I hate that dude or like him. Has a very punchable face, but I'm envious that he just travels around catching baseballs.

Marisnick throwing out Ellsbury was the greatest way to end a game ever. Glad we got the win with Acechel on the mound, let's do this again tomorrow. Also, frick the Yankees!!!
