This sounds like someone that's going to shut the Astros down.

We're probably going to need another late HEB run to keep the streak going.

They're slowly starting find ways to manufacturer runs. I still think Brantley is coming up with 2 outs needing a big hit too often. I'd much rather Correa, but whatever just win and I'm happy.

I agree, but the offense got some big hits last night hopefully that continues.

I enjoy game winning broken bat 28mph singles.

Their way isn't always pretty or "by the book" but it clearly beats lunhow ball hands down. Embrace it. You don't have to like it, but accept it.

I feel bad but I just don't think I will ever have faith in him, even when he was playing well last year. I think the failures prior over and over just won't allow me to trust him.

If nothing else, you can bet the Astros have done their analytics on the lineup.

If, as you say, Brantley is coming up with 2 outs and needing a big hit too often, this is exactly why he is there and not Correa. Brantley is going to give you a QAB at a much higher rate than Correa. He likely won't have the same power, but he's going to probably hit 40 points higher and not K near as much.

And even with some recent poor ABs by Brantley, I don't see where that's going to end up being even debatable.

Correa seems to always get strikes called, off the plate and/or low in the zone. This tends to keep happening, so he needs to try and put the bat on the ball on said pitches. Looks like he did in that early at bat, when he went to right field on the base hit. He's a much better hitter when he is attacking and not waiting on the umpire to call balls for him. It's still very early, I'm sure he will be the guy that we know he can be.

Correa has been in constant conflict.

He is a natural oppo guy. Likes to let the ball travel, and has the power to still drive it that way. This makes him less susceptible to off speed and getting caught on his front foot

The damn Crawford Boxes, along with launch angles and analytics, have him chasing Bregman. I think he is trying to get back to what made him successful, but teams are pitching him inside.

Last year he noticeably made an effort to pull and the season really never got started for him. Shots like his first hit last night have me encouraged he is getting back to what made him a 1-1.

Aside from the strikeouts Correa really has looked pretty good. He’s definitely healthy. It seemed like he never made hard contact after he came back last year and that’s definitely not a problem this year, it just seems like he’s still getting comfortable with an approach again like you said.

He came up giving the Astros their most professional ABs on the team. Somebody/something got him Co-Co for Crawford Puffs

When he's at his best, he will murder a hanging offspeed and hit line drives to RC. And when he's seeing beach balls, he will turn on inside heat too.

I'm all for him having more power, but not if it's going to have his avg down to .230 He's too good of a hitter for that
