McCann's handling of the pitching staff the first 2 games has been superb. He calmed down LMJ after the Bregman error and walk to Cano and right after Lance got Cruz to ground out softly to end the inning.

They were having some fun with him in the dugout last night, he wanted absolutely no part of the home run shower and they were giving him shite for it

So what's the official story about the outfield areas?

Its awesome. Might not be as awesome with the roof closed as I was thinking it was last night, but definitely wayyyyy better than the lame arse coca-cola suite or whatever was there before.

This guy thought I was taking a picture of him

Dude, I know McCullers gets hurt a lot but that's a little harsh.

Astros were outhit last night, I hope the bats tee off on teams 3/4/5 starters. Glad to hear the K rate is lower..although that could be solely because Gomez and Kastro are gone.

Talk to me about Charlie Morton. What is his story...what kind of stuff does he have, etc. I am not a big spring training follower so this guy is new to me.

If McHugh is good to go after his rehab start tomorrow, which pitcher gets bumped from the rotation? Are Morton and Fiers competing for that last spot? And which pitcher gets sent down when McHugh gets back?

Morton is primarily a sinkerballer/curveball guy. He's shown a big uptick in velocity the last couple years going from 90-92 to mid 90s with the Phillies last year and in spring training this year, but it's a small sample size. He's struggled with injuries throughout his career. He will definitely be interesting to watch though.

When McHugh comes back I am guessing they either bump Fiers to the pen and send down Gustave or send down Musgrove

I guess they could designate Peacock too at that point but I'm pretty Gustave still has options so that seems more likely

Appreciate the info. Hopefully Morton, Musgrove, and Fiers all pitch well enough that the decision on who to bump in favor of McHugh is a tough one...

If two of those three can have good years and throw 150+ innings the Astros will win a lot of games this year IMO

McCann may be kind of a tool but hes a tool that the astros need right now. We need a vet who will break a few bats in the clubhouse pregame vs the rangers when springer and the guys are screwin around.

I noticed this last night as well. He made several trips out to the mound. Lance can get a bit amped and lose his command. I liked seeing that from McCann

Can't wait till him and GoGo get into it.

Think he'll break some bats when Jake sneaks up behind him to throw some water in his face after his next homer?

McCann will make our pitchers shine this year. I think he will be a huge asset and will help LMJ reach his full potential

Curious to see how Morton does. Hopefully we can string some hits together today. Once Beltran gets going I think our lineup will start scoring
