Against all odds, the Bad News Bakers overcame 6 perfect innings to win their 3rd in a row. Some people are saying another run to the World Series is increasingly likely. I say we wait and see how it plays out.

Tucker gets a another day off because he had to pinch hit, play the ninth inning , then to fly to Toronto. Poor guy must be exhausted.

K-Lee hit a monster bomb last night.

LINK

His numbers aren't great at AAA. .230 witu a sub .300 OBP. But his major league roadblocks are Maldy and Castro. Soo...

Somewhat unfortunately, Maldy and Castro are well regarded defensively and with the pitchers. It's unlikely that change is Made mid season.

I don't know about that... With Castro's busted out knees, he's just one dink hit away from having to round first base and succumb to his yearly IL stint. When that happens, 100% guarantee he's headed to the trash heap.

Nothing will happen. This organization believes the catcher position means absolutely nothing. It's OK to have an automatic out at that spot. I believe our window is closed and a lack of a quality catcher now and when the window was open cost us one or 2 more championships. And let's make sure we don't trade any of the wonderful untouchables for a REAL catcher (Whitley anyone?).

ETA- If one of our crappy catchers gets hurt, we'll just bring in someone else off the scrapheap that's never hit over .170.

Given the history of Astros catchers, I think it’s in the franchise charter that catcher is ignored. The one good catcher the Astros had, they immediately moved him to second once he started to hit too much. The rest is history.

No matter. Crane wouldn't have resigned him after the 2 seasons were up.

On Jason Castros slow start to the season

quote:

Dusty Baker wondered this afternoon if CBA negotiations between the league and union had a more adverse impact on Jason Castro. Castro was a member of the eight-man executive subcommittee. Baker made the remarks after seeing Marcus Semien — another subcommittee member — this week

Yeah that's probably it.

Unvaxed players can’t travel to Canada. I’m guessing that’s why

This happened with the other teams that have gone up there to play as well
