I didn’t say it was all his fault, baw. Please look at my post three posts above yours and show me where I said that.
I give Espada a pass on the pitching mess. And if you want to say he’s taking orders on lineup construction, fine, though that in itself indicates how weak of a manager he is.
But his job is to lead. When your hitters repeatedly take worthless at-bats, and make mental mistakes, especially on the basepaths, that reflects on the manager. It’s not just the results of the at-bats. It’s the approach of the at-bats.
This mess starts with the owner and filters down. They overcame a horrible offseason last year. But front office, manager, players deserve blame, too. No one gets a total pass.
