95 works for him. It has “rise”

His post WBC last year wasn’t reaching 95

Not great. Also our catchers are getting stolen on at an alarming pace. 4 steals in less than 2 innings today.

Harper was out at third I thought but the ump missed it and he ended up scoring.

Nothings flat with Spaghetti I’ll give him that everything has some movement can see how he’d stay off the barrel but he’s missed middle/up a good bit

Yainer is getting run on too. But I don't know if it's pitchers being slow or if they're just not worrying about holding runners.

On some radio interview, I heard some Astros person or maybe a reporter say they are trying to work on this issue at spring training. They said the Astros realize it's been a problem and have programmed their pitch comm so that the pitcher or catcher can change the timing and use a slide step to hopefully prevent some of the stealing. They may be working on this and executing it very poorly.

Yanier has a fast pop time and strong arm. This issue seems to lie primarily with the pitchers. I think the rule changes to re-ignite the running game caught the Astros as an organization on their heels. Trying to teach the older dogs new tricks to combat it.

I wouldn't put much in to what happened today. AA/AAA lineup with the expected results

Starting offense showed out today. Homers from Altuve, Tucker and Yed. Bregman doubled, Pena tripled, Diaz knocked in a run

Caratini looks like he will easily avoid whipping boy status

I haven’t really put much thought into a front runner this year, but Pena could make the short list

Our boy Jake has to be considered. He would appear to be in his sink or swim season. Chas has been pretty damn consistent, but not out of the running.

Jake is definitely the whipping boy favorite, unless Lemon's back/knee/appendix/etc. are still squeezed.

My super Spidey senses tell me a platoon (LHH) outfield bat may be added though.

Let's say they do acquire an OF. It would be Carrot Top, Dubonnaroo, Kessinger and new OF. If not, someone shitty that they'd rather not have like Singleton or Julks will be the pick. Do they value a left-handed bat who they don't really need defensively or another OF more? I'd guess the latter. Their Cabbage may already be cooked.

Meanwhile, JD Davis is free again and Brandon Belt is still out there.

Betty Spaghetti and Forty Whitmer have been reassigned to minor league camp. I mean you can't script Whitakers misadventures any better than this. Basically his last shot, he comes into camp with an opportunity to claim a bullpen slot and he manages to not pitch at all because of a sore finger.

There's a reason we forgot his name. So long Foster Watkins.
