We've shite all over DH and then you realize this 4-34 stretch Yordan is on is minimally better than the rock bottom production DH has given us.

Stros could really use Brantley in the lineup

he was great for the phillies too

Honestly, it was the fans that were never going to trust him again after that. He needed to get out of Houston cause he struggled for the next two years.

as bad as that was, we won that series.

Dan Miceli is the real bastard of the bullpen in my eyes

Since today's my birthday, it would be nice if they actually got a win today. That's not asking for too much, no?

This is a pivotal game for the Phillies. Javier has nasty stuff and Nola needs to go at least 6 innings before we get into our bullpen. Nervous about Nola, his last two outings were complete shite, and this is the biggest game of his career tonight.
With that being said...Phils take a 3-1 lead tonight!

The fact that we are even in the World Series (and won a game) with Altuve, Yordan and the DH position hitting (or not hitting) the way they are shows just how good and deep this team is

Yeah Lance sucked last night for whatever reason, but we scored 0 runs so it didn’t even matter. Turn the page and hope 2 of those 3 guys start to hit and we win. If not, congrats Phillies

Off season thread:

First base
Rizzo
Abreu
Bell

Left field

Profar
Ben Nintendo

There I fixed it. Hire me Jim.

Oh and trade Garcia, Chas and a prospect to the Pirates for CF Bryan Reynolds.

Your mom needs a break. But it's not coming anytime soon. Hear that? It's the faint buzz of AN27 calmly ripping your chest open and shoving strikes where your heart should be. Htown has no soul. That's why the only team you can finish on is the equally soulless cultureless bought and paid for dodgers. Grease the poles. Play the song. RING THAT F*KN BELL!

I told a guy he needed to take a break and the mods deleted my comment but they let this reply stay lol. Y’all are a joke

Down 4-0 with runners on 1st and 3rd, he offers at a pitch on his hands and foul pops. We never threatened again. It's not all on him (FOYA) but he damn sure hasn't helped.

I keep going back to this. That was a massive turn. Guy had just allowed the bottom of the order to reach. Altuve should have been in a hitter’s count. Maybe Suarez gives in. Maybe he walks him. Then you have Peña up as the tying run and there is no place to put him.

So weird that both Baker & McCullers say they weren’t tipping but:

quote:

4 of the 5 HR allowed by Lance McCullers Jr. in Game 3 came on offspeed pitches (2 off sliders, 1 on a curveball, 1 on a changeup). Prior to Tuesday, McCullers hadn't given up a single HR on 651 offspeed pitches thrown this season (regular season and playoffs).

I’m guessing they’re just trying to play things close to the best and not come off as making excuses. Why I don’t know but I think it’s obvious what was going on

If we score 5 like we did the first two I think it will be enough for Javy. And we did that with mostly shitty performances from the aforementioned parties

This team has done a lot of shitting the bed followed by dominating the next day. The problem is you don't have a lot of room for error anymore. So no fricking around

Taking some early bets on whether champagne gate was undersold and McCullers ends up having another surgery in the off season.

The more I sit at work, the more I believe that Nola won’t have a 2nd bad WS outing. It just doesn’t happen in my opinion. Could be in for a long night with the way our bats are

This series is eerily reminiscent of both the ALCS and World Series last year....lets just hope we make it like the ALCS last year. I was at game 3 in Fenway and Schwarber hit a grand slam that night and his homer last night reminded me of that. lets hope that we come out firing tonight to keep that crowd out of it

Hasn't been but a month ago that Nola perfect gamed us for 7 innings. So I don't feel great given the sad sack state of this offense. Shelling him for 5 runs would seem like the exception and not the expectation.
