What's the old Rynoism?

The playoffs will test our minds, hearts, and liquor cabinets?

In 2017, you could substitute Ken Giles for playoffs.

In 2019, you can substitute "Most of the offense"

I'm the positive DAT poster.

Game 5, at home, with the best pitcher in MLB in 2019 on the mound.

yo8 need altuve, springer, breggie and gurriel to go off. plus brantley and alavarez would help

the regular season hitting astros. i made money on astros all year. never lost a system play with them.

now that is being tested.

they need to blow tampa the frick out. hang 10 on their asses.

ETA: oh yeah and correa

i mean shite the astros found ways to win when springer, altuve and correa were hurt

no excuses.

Game 5 totally illustrates why you work so hard through the season to get home-field advantage.

And I look at it this way: if we get through Thursday, the Yankees pitching is nowhere near as good as the Rays pitching from top to bottom.

And another thing....with a win, Greinke would start Game 1 Saturday. Imagine if he can win the first game....then you have Cole and Verlander lined up for 2 and 3 with a game already in hand.

i have stated this to my astros collegaues all year

dodgers, nats, and the twins had stacked starting pitcher staffs. all teams above had 3 or 4 pitchers ranked in top 20 of markov NPERA throught season. didgers finished with 3, nats 4 and minny with 2. minny pitching fell off at wrong time of year. the yankees just have savages at the plate and blew minny away. i also think minny had a weak bullpen.

however

look at top 4 of AL

3 astros and a ray

1 Cole, Gerrit HOU R 2.21 39.67$ 212.1 2.50 326 20 8.18 0 14.64 0.579 2.53
A 2 Verlander, Justin HOU R 2.29 40.86$ 223.0 2.58 300 21 7.47 0 13.64 0.579 3.10
A 3 Greinke, Zack HOU R 2.51 32.33$ 208.2 2.93 187 18 9.01 0 8.05 0.623 3.13
A 4 Morton, Charlie TBR R 2.53 30.20$ 194.2 3.05 240 16 10.31 0 9.79 0.623 2.79

Yea, the playoffs aren't easy, and Tampa Bay won 96 games. That would have won 3 divisions in 2018. They are a good team and we all knew that going in.

The Astros are better, have more experience of being in huge games and coming through on the other side.

Losing 1-0 with Cole going 8+ would be a fitting end to the season.

In the current 2-2-1 format, just seven teams have rallied back from a 0-2 deficit to force a game 5. Five of the seven have completed the comeback, and the #Rays are looking to become the sixth:

I’ll be honest, not feeling very confident about tomorrow, I told my wife if we got up 2-0 that it’s over, but man this offense resembles Les miles.
I watch patterns and we went from:
World series win
ALCS loss
Possible ALDS loss
Probably lose the Wild Card game next year

I'm not either. Not with the way the offense is going. Should feel better about being at home but they weren't hitting well when they left home either.

We've got Cole

They've got Glasnow, Snell, Morton and the league's best bullpen that's so far shite on this lineup.
