Exactly. It would be fun theater except the jabs from the local media wouldn’t be subtle.

Kinda funny/poetic that it’s Springer vs Correa for which gets to play their old team

Surprised Scott Servais wasn't fired for not letting the hungover Rangers win.

Let's go boys. Looking forward to FODB pissing me off some more. Only difference being it's the playoffs.

He doesn't like the Houston media pressing him. Can't imagine how pissed he'd be in New York when they mock him for the stupid decisions

And those stupid and dishonest fricks would frame it, "In a surprising departure from his Houston years, Dusty Baker is making some highly questionable decisions as manager of the Mets. Sources inside the organization say he plays favorites over superior players and ignores analytics when constructing the batting order.

Chandler Rome, Astros beat writer for The Athletic, was asked to explain Baker's change of strategy: "Change of what? What the frick are you talking about? Same buffoon, different uniform."

Ehhh, he’s still kind of a freak.

But having he and Bregman on the same team would sure create fireworks.

Not sure what Chapman is paid

Upgrade defensively and on the bases, but offensive production with Bregman's ability to walk could be dependent on salary

Lateral move and not worth losing Bregman’s leadership

Well, I'm lazy and haven't looked up Chapman's salary, but I do know Bregman is not worth the $30 M he got this year and is owed next

I would guess Chapman in a down year hit .250 ish and had 20 HRs Definitely not the OBP and RBI totals

And those numbers would probably be in line with Bregman based on salary, but IDK

And I would add that I like Bregman.

He has the intangibles, but I don't think he will age well, esp given that he sells out for power when he only has it to pulled LF

I think his value would be greater if he adopted more of a Brantley approach, but of course the market will likely bear him more fruit elsewhere as his numbers are on the decline

Statistically, Bregs is better in pretty much every category. 2023 stats.

Bregs - WAR 4.9, HRs 25, Avg .262, OPS .804
Chapman - WAR 4.4, HRs 17, Avg .240, OPS .755

Bregs walks a lot more and strikes out a lot less. We just see his faults (base speed, trying to pull too much). And I'll bet Breggy hits into more double plays.

They are pretty much the same player.
