Red Sox fans, unless they are on the younger side, suffered just the same until 2004.
Totally agree. If a guy is a Red Sox fan cause his dad was or his grandpa saw Ted Willliams at Fenway or some shite, thats a totally different thing. Life long Sox fans def know suffering. If we're being honest though, the lions' share of LA Sox fans started rooting for them in the early 00s cause it was the cool thing to do and hey wanted to be seen on campus in their Sox hat. Those also seem to the the obnoxious shite talking ones. Just sayin.
Anyway.. enough bitching for one day, I'm ready to enjoy game 5

but red sox fans havent?
Three World Series titles in the past 15 years? I'm sure they're doing just fine.
Meanwhile, we Astros fans have won one World Series title and two pennants since the 1960s.

In the last year, the Astros have won 100% of the World Series championships.

Like being a Saints fan, we have experienced a ton of stress and suffering as Astros fans, which is why these past few years have been such a blast to watch.
In that I feel like true Astros and true Red Sox fans have lots in common.
As a Red Sox fan I had to suffer through Buckner’s error, Boone, watching our arch nemesis take our best players and win rings with them (Curse of the Bambino) and failing in the post season until 2004.
Like you last year 2004 was special as a Six fan because it ended decades of close calls.
Became a Sox fan as a friend of mines dad used to go to Boston for work and would always bring us back Red Sox gear. My dad was a huge Wade Boggs fan and would watch the national broadcasts so those were my introduction to MLB.
Didn’t have cable growing up so I rarely saw the Astros play and never went to Houston until I was in college so I had no attachment to Houston. They were never “local” to me.
Red Sox were always “my team” thanks to pure luck.
Always pulled for the Astros since they were in the NL and had no effect on the Sox.
I also really dislike the bandwagon fans that switched in 2004. Those people are usually annoying.

Very well said ForkEm. We’ve had a lot of band wagoners in the last year that I can’t stand myself. That being said I still hate the Sox

I bet Verlander will come out on FIYA tonight! Is it 7pm central yet?!?!?!

Posted on 10/18/18 at 12:04 pm to gjackx
It's a tall task, but if Verlander can give us 6-7 innings, and we can muster some runs; I like our chances tonight as well as Game 6 with Cole.

Its happening. Astros in 7.

Tonight's keys to victory:
1) Don't walk or hit batters with the bases loaded.
2) There's 3 outs in an inning. Not 2.

3) Someone better make an offering to the baseball gods because EVERYTHING is going the Red Sox way since game 1.

Ryno! I was hoping you’d start the thread today. Desperate times, desperate measures.

Guys I'll say this. We can complain about the call and yesterday's game all we want, but this is ancient history. I don't think this series is over yet. But if we can't beat the Red Sox at home, when we have one of the best postseason pitchers ever and the Red Sox have one of the worst ever pitching tonight, then we don't deserve to win this series.
Also if we keep being dumb and give Jackie Bradley fastballs, when he is one of the worst hitters in baseball, we also don't deserve to win the series. Make adjustments.

Jbj has been their MVP.
Which freaking sucks but good on him for making plays.
We have done a decent job of holding the first 4. Jbj just so happens to have every rbi ever in the history of baseball.
