Yeah a 3-2 series lead would be frightening for Boston.

I think what he is trying to say is that being down 3-1 is not as hopeless for the Astros as it is for a lot of teams in this situation. The Astros have the horses to come back from this, but the margin for error is zero. Can't have 13 men left on base, 4 wild pitches, 2 hit batters, a shortstop who doesn't touch 2nd base on a force play and a base-runner who gets thrown out stretching a single into a double down 3 runs.

I think for me the worst part is that the Red Sox are being rewarded for having and using the worst closer in the history of playoff baseball, and even doing so for multiple innings.

Just shitty baseball that goes against all that we know about the playoffs and championships.

Man that game last night was a kick square in the dick.

Hopefully we come out with some fight behind Verlander, move Correa to the 4 hole and let's do this. I don't want to see one bullpen pitcher today.

Can y’all not just be happy that y’all had a good run?! I love when someone’s team loses they immediately make excuses. Actually kinda sad

Oh, they will never take the joy that the 2017 postseason brought to this guy. That being said, the accumulation of talent that is in Houston right now has a limited shelf life. We all want to take advantage of the fleeting moment to the highest degree. Whatever goes on in the "shadow" replay office in New York, though, needs to be held accountable. Everyone knows that MLB and FOX would much prefer a Red Sox/Dodgers World Series. Money talks and has great influence.

Right now the Astros are The Mountain, and the Red Sox are the Red Viper. If they frick around and get cute instead of finishing it off while they're ahead, they might end up with their skulls crushed.

This is fricking sad.

2017 astros
2016 Indians
2015 royals
2014 royals

Yeah MLB is rigging it for better ratings.

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy, I just think they’re extremely incompetent. I mean everyone knew Joe West was incompetent long before yesterday

There's no doubting who MLB would rather have in the WS, and I know it makes calls like that a lot easier to make, but letting your relief pitching look like Kimbrel every time, and doing it versus a 9 hole guy, is never gonna get rewarded.

There's no conspiracy going on. But one guy, who's 65 years old, obese and can barely move, just influenced a swing game in the ALCS.

If he calls that a HR, there's no doubt in my mind it's 'upheld' when it goes to review.

There's absolutely no accountability for these guys and that's the most frustrating part.

quote:

Q. Okay. Did the fan — JOE WEST: Here’s the whole play, here’s the whole play. He hit the ball to right field. He jumped up to try to make a catch. The fan interfered with him over the playing field. That’s why I called spectator interference.

I mean, this is total incompetence. Mookie admitted he went up and OVER to try to catch the ball.

He’s making a call based on what he saw without the benefit of replay or asking betts where he was, etc. He’s got to make a snap call right there on what he just saw. He saw a guy tracking the ball about to make a catch then get prevented from making the catch from a fan. He made a call.

Y’all are just complaining because it affected you. If y’all were Red Sox fans and they called it a HR, you’d still be crying.

As much as I would like to admit, we beat ourselves with sloppy play. We come back and take the lead after the shite call and can't close the door. Bregman is not a lead off hitter. I know he's hot, and nobody behind him is getting him around, but he's not our lead off guy. I said this during the year, Kemp should be our lead off guy, followed by Altuve, Springer and Bregman. Or flip flop 3 and 4. Then fill in where you want after that. Kemp walks a lot and puts the ball in play and has some speed. We need to put this game away early and take our chances with Cole the next game. We have been better on the road this year, and it will show this weekend if we can get by tonight. Once and Stro, always a Stro.

Still not sure why Stros fans are blaming Joe West. The blame falls on those three fans who stuck their hand out trying to catch a $7 baseball
