Price tomorrow
Posted on 10/18/18 at 12:36 am to Patton
His elbows were talked into his ribs and he was standing straight up. If he was in the field of play, he has the longest forearms ever.

That was an unbelievably bad call.

Boston has also had some amazing fricking throws this playoffs.

This series isn’t over yet, literally every single thing went the Red Sox way. Joe West with his own little mark on history for his fans too. Everyone should be confident with JV on the bump tomorrow. Astros play better on the road anyway and I still like Cole to come out and be himself in G6. 7 games is what most of expected anyway (the realistic ones, frick you PearlJam)

Boston went all in on winning this one betting they won't lose 3 straight with 2 of them at home. They might concede a game to Verlander tomorrow with a bullpen game but they're confident in winning 1/3.
We've got co-aces on the hill the next 2 days. Verlander has to be a stopper and Cole has to get his shite together. Just get it to game 7.

Nope, doubt you’re older than I. I remember the games you mention. This was every bit as frustrating with the circumstances.
Wasn’t trying to be presumptuous. It sucks royal arse to lose a game like this, but keep in mind those losses came when the Astros and the entire city of Houston had never won a thing. I think that alone made it more frustrating. It’s like my fellow LSU fans that think 05 Tenn was the worst loss ever. Silly lads.

Joe West is a closet Red Sox fan let's not kid ourselves.

He clearly reaches forward at the last second when he made contact with the glove. He was also very close to the fence. I’m not saying it’s obvious. He wasn’t a foot into the field but we are all looking at this with a bad angle. If we had a line of sight right down the fence I’m not convinced he isn’t over that imaginary line.

Why can’t hinch fight for his team more? “There’s no mechanism for me to change the play as called or change their mind. What, am I gonna get tossed in the first inning?”
But AJ, you lose by two runs. “Oh that doesn’t mean anything. There was a lot of baseball to play and lot can happen.’
Just bend over and take it AJ. Don’t bitch about it. Just go back to the dugout with your tail between tour legs. You can still yell and bitch without getting tossed. And yes, it was a HUGE play in the game and made a huge difference.

For some reason I’m not nearly as bummed as I was an hour or 2 ago. Glad to see we didn’t go down easy
It’s like game 5 last year except we are on opposite side. And we wouldn’t trade that game for anything
(Yes if I think about the dozen or so stupid mistakes I’ll get furious

What would you prefer Hinch to do in that situation? He gets thrown out and you are feeling better right now?
Posted on 10/18/18 at 12:41 am to Patton
Alright, you're not convinced. Neither are Red Sox fans I imagine. Most others see it as a terrible call and a failed review, though.

Hinch really is a fricking wimp. Dude has no fire.

Price is starting tomorrow per the Red Sox post game radio broadcast.
Posted on 10/18/18 at 12:42 am to GRTiger
Tough call either way. Whatever West called right after was gonna stay. Tough break for the stros.
Posted on 10/18/18 at 12:42 am to A Menace to Sobriety
I just hope tomorrow isn't like Game 4 against the White Sox in 2005...coming off that brutal Game 3 loss, the team had nothing for Game 4.

I’m not convinced based on the angle the fan wasn’t over the imaginary line going straight up for the fence.
Even if it was interference (and most people don't think it was, and there is no way in hell West could tell that it was interference from where he was), there is no way in hell it should have been called an out. According to the rule, the only way it's an out is if the interference impeded what would have been a "plain out." There is not way in the hell that catch, if he had made it, which he wasn't going to, would have been a "plain out." Worst case for the Astros, it should have been a double.

I expect him to protest the game at that point. I really do. It s a rule interpretation. Make MLB make a decision on it. Not some fat out of shape umpire that can’t get out of the way of a ball thrown to second from home plate.
