Well let tell you a story young fella. Back in 69, Dusty was teammates on the Braves with Hoyt Wilhelm. Now Hoyt had been pitching for 17 years at that point, he had the respect of the team and when Hoyt spoke, you listened. Well I reckon it was about August in that summer of 69 and Hoyt walked off the mound and lit his cigarette as he took the bench next to a 19 year old Dusty Baker. He says to Dusty, "boy if you've got something to say to a man you look him in the eye and say it or you mark it down of your written hand in a signed letter." That was a lesson to a young Dusty on what it meant to be a man and it stuck with him. That's why to this day he doesn't use electronic mail and still prefers to send letters by carrier pigeon.

We could all learn a thing or two from those words of the late Hoyt Wilhelm
