No telling what will come out of Marty’s mouth but he has some great stories which have been told both by him and through others like Mick Foley.

stopped watching after they killed the Golden Goose in Goldberg and found out chasing girls was a hell of a lot more fun than chasing pro wrestling, so I never saw the end of WCW. But from the clips, it's amazing how bad the promotion got from 1999-2001.
I remember trying my hardest to stick with WCW after they rebranded, changed the set, changed Goldberg's theme song to the Megadeth song, etc but it was pure cringe. 2000 must have been around the time I gave up because I don't remember the story with Bash at the Beach. Short summary?

There was a Hogan-Jarrett match for the title where Jarrett laid down, Hogan pinned him for the title, then left muttering about how crap like that was why the company was in trouble.
Russo subsequently does a promo effectively firing Hogan and disparaging him while setting up a Jarrett title defense against Booker T for later that night.
Deal is that the first part was agreed to by Hogan and Russo. The second part was not and, in fact, violated several parts of Hogan’s contract regarding creative control, disparagement on air, etc.
Hogan did not return to WCW before it folded and in fact sued them and Russo over this incident.

I'm surprised I never heard anything about all that. I was always fascinated with what writing and creative was doing with WCW back then to cause such a colossal failure, I'm looking forward to this episode the most. Cornette might actually punch the camera during this one

Marty J will be the best episode.
Question 1: why did you jump out that window?

the first episode might as well be just an hour of Sunny in a bikini and people doing voice overs.
There is no need to show any other faces.
1995 Sunny wire the bikini very well.

Yeah I can’t wait for the Marty J episode. I follow him on social media and some of the shite he says just wow
About a year or so ago he was doing a Facebook live or something and in his rambling he admitted that when he was a teenager he killed a guy that they knew to be a pedophile. You never know what’s going to come out of his mouth.

Cornette said it's mainly about Candido. I wish it was mainly about Sunny though. Went from being the most downloaded woman on the internet and turning down Playboy to now begging Missy Hyatt for commissary money while in jail over killing someone after yet another DUI.

Supposedly it was a worked shoot until Russo made fun of Hogan for being bald.

Notice that Russo is wearing a SF Giants jersey instead of a Yankees jersey to swerve everyone (in his mind at least)

That was part of it but it was also a temper tantrum by Russo over Hogan using his creative control to block everything Russo asked him to do.
That contract Hogan got the Turner brass gave him an insane amount of control over how he was used and, in turn, how others were used. That was a huge part of why people got so sick of his shite there.

Also why the 1997 Starcade finish between Hogan and Sting was such garbage. I know people like to point to the fingerpoint of doom as the reason for the downturn of WCW because 1998 was still pretty strong, but I say the downturn started because of that stupid Starcade finish that Hogan wanted.

Eh Sting deserves just as much blame for that too.

Vice TV, YouTube, or anywhere which hosts Vice shows.

I hope Dr Tom Pritchard gets interviewed as part of this given he knew them in Smokey Mountain before getting shanghaied into being Candido’s tag partner.
He loved Chris but detested Tammy.

Unfortunately Russo made himself WCW champion a couple of months later.

He does indeed get interviewed (along with Lance Storm). Apparently him and Corny get pretty choked up talking about Chris.
