Sewell dropping seems nuts, but it’s not like I’ve broken down tape of he and Slater to compare their skill sets. I know no one posting here has, so who knows

Surtain played at a very high level this year. His best football is also ahead of him.

How is his best football ahead of him? Is he about to finally get some coaching, or someone to teach him how to play cornerback? The kid has been tutored by his dad, and then top notch coaching in college. What’s left?

A bunch of people here are shitting on DJ for dropping an OT no one here knew of prior to august of 2020

None of you have the credentials or access to film that DJ has. Your only expertise of Sewell is that you’ve seen him hyped over and over again for 12 months

Is it okay to be shocked he’s not the #1 OT taken? Sure. But to think you’re smarter than DJ is fricking hilarious

Yeah it’s pretty funny seeing the reaction when I’d guess 90 percent of the people on this board haven’t even seen Sewell take a snap and the extent of their draft breakdown would be LSU players = good, Bama players = bad

All of our perceptions of what these lists “should” be is based on other stuff we’ve read just like this. Who knows how this stuff shakes out, considering there’s been no senior bowl, pro days, and several of these guys haven’t played in a year.

DJ is regarded as the best in draft analysis

Combine that with his front office sources

He knows what he is talking about

Teams like corners. I think 6 is probably a little high if I'm being honest but he's very good and he's got size to match. He was somewhat underwhelming (solid, but not great) until this season.

He may know what he's talking about but it's January. He'll have three or four more mocks coming out before the draft gets here and the last one won't look anything like this one. All this one is about is pushing content out to get page views.

I think Sewell wont drop, but I hope he does. I think he is the next Tyron Smith type LT.

The only thing I think that hurts him is he has not played in over a year, so is he really as good as he seems to be?

I do see Dallas going OT then going DL/DB until round 5 and do not be surprised to see them get either Purdy, Ehlinger, or Ramsey late (rd 5-7)

I think it will be really interesting where Jaime Newmann (QB UGA) gets drafted

If the Bengals do anything besides OL or trade the pick at #5, Joe Burrow should take a dump on the GMs desk.

Agreed. He was being talked about kind of in that tier behind Lawrence and Fields during last offseason, but now he's kind of disappeared from the discussion.

I think people were projecting a LOT with that just assuming he was going to be UGAs starter and they were gonna update the offense

With no tape from last year I think his ceiling is like 3rd round

I think that’s why people are questioning Sewell dropping. Nothing has happened to drop him, and no one else has him dropping.

Does DJ know something? He will update his mock several more times over the next 3 months. There’s plenty of time for Sewell to climb back up his draft board, but dropping him to the 10th pick on his initial mock seems odd, unless he has some inside scoop.

He has GB picking Tutu Atwell. A team that hasn't picked a 1st round WR since 2002 is suddenly going to pick a 5'9" 165lb WR with their first pick. He's also projected to go in the 3-4th round form some sites.

If I'm the Bengals, I hire 5 or 6 former All-Pro offensive linemen on a short-term contract. Get them to interview all the top OL prospects and give a very detailed review of each and recommendation of who they think will be the best and why.

Then use that information to help guide your decision. It's an important one that cannot be fricked up.

He hasn’t played a snap in over a year. Another potentially elite OT prospect just played 8 games, and ppl who watch film to prep for the draft are just now hammering through all the 2020 season tape. So I disagree with this statement.

Yes, he watches full games of these prospects. And he has contacts in the league. He’s the NFL Network’s chosen analyst to cover the combine. I’d say he knows a lot.

He may be dropping him because he equally likes Slater, and there could be a trend with GMs being hesitant on opt out guys with way less intel available for the 2021 draft compared to every other year, so they may side with the guys who played in 2020 if all else is equal or close. Might be why JaMarr goes after Devonta, or guys like Rousseau or Parsons could slide a bit when 6 months ago people like us may have just assumed those guys were top 5 picks.

Would suck for DeVonta Smith to get stuck in Detroit with either a new QB or an old, injured Matt Stafford.

So Daniel Jeremiah is a dumbass. That’s my takeaway from that mock.
