Following Crawford’s successful defense of his WBO world welterweight title over Kell Brook this past weekend, the Hall of Fame promoter and Top Rank boss revealed that he had lost money promoting his athlete in the past three bouts and urged the American to sell himself more.

“He’s got to promote like [Teofimo] Lopez does. He’s got to promote like Shakur [Stevenson] does. Like [Floyd] Mayweather did. Like [Manny] Pacquiao did. If he doesn’t, then who the f-ck needs him,” Arum told The Athletic.

“He may be the greatest fighter in the world, but, hey, I ain’t going bankrupt promoting him. The question is, ‘Do we want to keep him?’ I could build a house in Beverly Hills on the money I’ve lost on him in the last three fights, a beautiful home,” he added.

Arum’s pronouncement drew the ire of White as he erupted in an expletive-filled press conference of Dana White’s Contender Series.

“His problem isn’t to figure out how you make money. You f—king signed a deal with this kid. How many people we have on the roster, our roster is very inflated right now. We have a very big roster, the biggest roster we’ve ever had in the history of the company,” said White.

“I have to pay all these kids. How I pay them is not their f—king problem. It’s my f—king problem,” the UFC president noted.

“Imagine me saying ‘I got to pay Conor McGregor this much money, I could have built a house in Beverly Hills.’ Shut the f--k up, you f--king scumbag. Pay your f--king fighter what you owe him, do your job. Bob Arum is a piece of f--king sh-t.”

Idk if it’s a smart idea to start scolding other people about fighter pay if you’re Dana, given how much of a sore subject it’s been for him the last few years

But he is right

The Bob Arums and Don Kings of this world are one of the biggest problems with boxing imo. These buzzards squeeze every nickel they can out of any boxer they get ahold of until they are no longer useful.

What an astounding lack of awareness that the promoter who is worth $300 million is bitching at the boxer for not promoting himself better. Lmao what is he paying Arum for then?

Dana knows how to run a major sport even if you want to criticize him for fighter pay. The UFC is continuing to grow and that will eventually help fighters prize money. The fights and names are growing though which can’t really be denied. If Dana didn’t build the apex or have fight island which both costs enormous amounts they would be in huge trouble from this year.

Boxing promoters and MMA promoters arguing about this shite is as dumb as stockcar racers arguing with monster-truck drivers.

There is literally nothing similar about the 2.

If a "promoter" is telling a fighter to promote himself, what the frick is the promoter's job? The network broadcasts the fight and the fighter fights. If Arum is not promoting, he's just a frickin leach reaching into the pockets of both sides for doing nothing. And lets not forget his feud with Al Haymon who holds all the talent at 147 is the reason Crawford hasn't been able to get legacy-building opponents. It's incredible the lack of self-awareness this piece of shite has.

Guys has **** you money, acts like a guy with **** you money but would be the exact same if he was broke on the street corner.

Dana white has built a sustainable model that doesn’t let his fighters take over his sport like we have seen with other pro sports. He is a genius and by far the best head of a professional sports organization that we have seen in decades.

Maybe so but that wasn’t really my point.

It’s kind of like if goodell was telling the MLB they have an inconsistent and confusing punishment model for off field problems

Think Bud might promote himself better if his promoter Arum could actually line up legitimate challengers. Everyone has successfully ducked Crawford so far, there is no person he will back down from. Why don’t you do your job Bob?

Has Dana White broken contracts he's signed with fighters?

Well Dana and arum have been feuding for a while and both throw bombs each other’s way, although Dana always wins.

Mma is a much different than other sports. The guys that are Ppv draws make big money. Guys that are former champs or that have been with the organization for a while make decent money. Up and comers have to prove themselves.

I’m just saying he’s caught a bunch of heat on how his fighters getting paid and it’s usually a shitstorm, so he’s opening up a can of worms with this

I’m not making an indictment on how the UFC is set up
