Urban Meyer is returning to broadcasting this season with a role on the “Big Noon Saturday” show on FOX Sports, but the former Jacksonville Jaguars, Ohio State and Florida head coach could be headed to the sidelines in the future.

Syndicated radio host Dan Patrick said a source told him that Nebraska and Arizona State are schools that could be “on to something” and to “keep an eye on” about Meyer’s coaching future.

Scott Frost at Nebraska and Herman Edwards at Arizona State are 2 of the coaches most on the hot seat nationally this season.

Can you imagine Urban at ASU

I was actually wondering if Auburn would take a shot at him next year.

With the coeds there I think he could do a good job. ASU has way underperformed for the last 40 years with a few exceptions.

He's the one guy I can think of that would make UNL dangerous again.

That would be my pick as well. He can win a national title at Auburn

I'm not sure he would want that. He would have to play Saban and Smart every year at AU.

I don’t think that’s helping him

I just don’t see it. He went after the most prestigious jobs in college football, and he put himself in a position to succeed.

Turned down ND for Florida, took the OSU job when there wasn’t a super clear top dog (if anything, OSU was already as close as anyone in that conference).

ASU and Nebraska would be so different from those.

I can't see him going to ASU, especially since the Pac is falling apart. I think Nebraska is possible and he'd make them competitive, IMO. Meyer may be a scumbag, but he's a hell of a college coach and recruiter.

Nebraska would be a good spot for him on a redemption tour

Urban likes a stacked deck. After his NFL flop where the deck isn’t stacked, I think he would be pickier than Nebraska or Arizona State.

I think these are both awful opportunities compared to what will likely be open within the next 18 months. He should wait it out and see what opens if he wants to get back into it so badly.

No one expected USC, OU, Miami, Oregon, LSU, Florida, ND to all open up within the last year. Some of those replaced the other but still. If anything like that happens in 2022-2023, Urban could be at a top 10 power quick. If Urban was at any of those listed above he would win and win big

yup

nebraska has a crappy recruiting base, unlike osu and florida. not to mention, urban will demand a lot of stipulations to be successful. e.g. he'll want some combination of these things:

1) big budget for asst coaches
2) lucrative NIL deal
3) decreased admission standards for portal transfers
4) waivers for HS players with sketchy backgrounds
5) big recruiting budget

No way in the world he goes to Auburn. He is not going to want to play Alabama, LSU, and Georgia every year and have to in state recruit against Alabama. He left Florida because he couldn't beat Bama or LSU in his last years at Florida. Thats why he started having drug problems....I mean "heart issues" to begin with. I would think we waits and sees what is going on with Texas this year.

SEC schedule is irrelevant, everyone is about to be playing a pretty equal schedule.
