He’s not even the highest rated passer this season, Lamar Jackson is. And Mahomes is leading in YPC.

Correct. No idea what he’s looking at.

Not to worry. He'll play 4 shitty teams in a row.

Have you considered Dak may benefit from teams stacking a box to shut down Zeke? Zeke being shut down is likely the result of teams not respecting Dak and giving him a better chance to succeed, not the opposite.

Give credit where it is due: Dak is playing well so far.

Unbiased non-cowboy masses: pay the man what he wants so the team will lose depth and under perform.

He’s looking great. Very comfortable back there. Going to be dangerous in this new offense.

Cowboys are going to have one of the largest cap space amounts in the NFL heading into next season, even with just paying Zeke.

I follow the Cowboys and like Dak, but I still don’t think he’s a top 10 QB. He has been encouraging

He’s a great kid and hard not to root for

Dak is never going to get the credit he deserves. A lot of people keep waiting for him to be exposed or fail, but he keeps proving his doubters wrong.

I was one of his skeptics, but it’s time to admit he’s a very good NFL QB. The other option is to continue to move the goalposts and make excuses for his success.

When he was drafted he was labeled a good college QB from a spread system. He was Tebow Lite. He wasn’t an NFL QB.

Then Tony Romo and Kellen Moore were injured in training camp, and suddenly Dak was winning games, but the rest of the offense got all the credit.

Then he continued to put up good numbers, but was labeled a game manager that would eventually be exposed.

He’s played 50 games and still hasn’t been exposed. He’s getting better. Take a look around the league at all the terrible QB performances. There are probably 20 teams that would dump their current QB and give Dak a huge contract.

With Brees and Roethlisberger out with injury and Cam dealing with his residual injuries, it’s not crazy to say Dak is a top 10 guy right now.

Mahomes
Rodgers
Brady
Ryan
Rivers
Stafford
Jackson
Wilson

That’s the list of active healthy guys you can put ahead of him right now. We’ll see how Jackson holds up but anyone who says that guy isn’t a NFL quarterback needs to eat their crow pies all this week.

Are you guys implying that team sport records are set vs championship level competition.
Surely not.

He's definitely top 10 at the moment. You only named 8 and I guarantee a lot of teams would take a young Dak over Stafford and Ryan. Ryan has the same if not better weapons than Dak and continues to under perform. And spare me on Jackson. He hasn't proven anything yet.

Not only have I considered that primarily the first 3 years of his career, I accepted that as fact. However, since the Boys acquired Amari in the Raiders trade and thus far this season, Dak's reached a higher level of performance not only in completing short-range passes but also in deep passes, throwing the ball with conviction, and leading a team. Dude's been putting that ball on the money these first weeks of the season to the point it's now obvious in how much he elevated his game as well as how obvious Dallas transformed its offensive approach in both the passing and running components complimenting each other as opposed to Dak completely relying on Zeke. Obviously, Dak's coming out party as a dominating passer and leader was last year's overtime win against Philly when he exceeded 450 yards passing to lead the Boys to the crucial division W.

Not sure I'd completely agree with this characterization bc Dak really emerged as a rising dominant passer last season when the Boys acquired Amari and has only continued to improve so don't think teams weren't respecting Dak at least to the degree you're articulating, they certainly do now. Moreover, as the Rams shut Zeke down and kept him down, all they had to do then was pin their ears back and go after Dak and he still submitted a better QBR than Goff that game. One can only use the "shut Zeke down" argument to a certain point bc the complexion of games change in light of that to the point defenses then focus their pursuit on the quarterback.

Good luck with that when it comes to Jerry and Stephen Jones, these baws are geniuses when it comes to contracts and the cap. They may not win actual Super Bowls nowadays but they certainly win the Contracts and Salary Cap Super Bowl.
