Both were QBs on well put together teams that won games despite their futility.

The Cowboys have a roster to compete, but the QB needs to be pulled. Jerry Jones will not committ to him long term regardless of what he said publicly.

The Cowboys should go after Flacco.

Cooper isn't elite.

ETA - I actually think that's a fair comparison. QBs who usually wouldn't get you beat, but guys you can't expect to win a game on their arm either.

Nothing about either guy's skill set really scares you as an opposing fan.

The cowboys with virtually any other QB are above the bears right now.

Would rather have Bridgewater. Have never liked Flacco

Dak and Jalen have many parallels.

2016 in Daks rookie year, the Cowboys have their most successful year in over a decade and he is named Rookie of the Year.

2016 Jalen as a freshman leads Bama to their 1st undefeated regular season since 2009. He is named SEC offensive player of the year. He loses in the championship game.

Neither progressed after their rookie and freshman year like most thought they would.

Jalen actually has a higher passer rating than Tua this year. You have some explaining to do.

Dak is a much better QB. I’d be surprised if Jalen ever took a snap at QB in the NFL

going into today's game he was 50% of the receivers who were averaging 100 yards per game this season.

And now?

ETA - that also blatantly false. He was averaging 77 ypg.

Bruh, there were literally Cowboys fans on this site yesterday saying Jerry is going to give Dak a $100mm contract because "thats how the NFL works"

I don't think the OP was saying they're equals from a talent standpoint. Dak was scary in college, but not so much in the NFL. His success is predicated on a very talented team around him, and he simply distributes the ball and keeps mistakes down. He's not the guy you want to count on to win a game with his arm, and neither is Hurts.

I think the best comparison is Tim Tebow. Both had intangibles off the charts. Both are gamers who their teammates love. Unfortunately both had well below average arm talent and it was the end for Tebow and will be for Dak as well in a few years.

This is still an upgrade for almost half the teams in the NFL. Its not that easy to find a really good Qb that can win games on his own. That's why even the mediocre NFL qbs can always find a job.

Well if Lamar Jackson is doing it I guess anything is possible.

Yeah, but mediocre QBs don't get elite QB money.

ETA - , I'm obviously wrong. But mediocre QBs shouldn't get elite money, even though they often do.

Well, that is one of the most false statements you will ever read on this entire board, ever.
