*there are talks about eventually going to 16 schools. If that happens I'd probably go after UMass & Delaware*

I think CUSA went after schools that while they are in big markets (except Tech) have great academic reputations

UTSA is a glorified community college. The place is like 40 years old.

I feel bad for Rice for being affiliated with all those academic lightweights.

The West should be a cakewalk for Tulsa and La Tech in the future. The east will be tough with USM,ECU,and Marshall. I think ODU and UAB will both be pretty good in a couple years plus FIU is doing pretty well.

Basketball should be good as well.

I think it's bullshite that natural rivals Tulane and Southern Miss are in different divisions.

If CUSA adds 2 more teams I want them to come from the East so Southern Miss can move over and I think both Delaware and UMass have great potential

ODU should be dominating 10 years from now, way to much talent in their backyard

That's one reason I'm glad ODU got invited

Does anyone think La Tech / Tulane can eventually turn into a big rivalry?

Rivalries aren't forced...they are just made. The questions are: are both schools competing with each other for positioning in the conference, time/duration of both schools being in conference, incidents spurring mutual hatred for each other, etc. All the ingredients are there (shared in-state recruits)...

As long as Tulane builds its on campus stadium and builds more support, otherwise it'll be a lopsided rivalry for sure.

Looking at the two, its funny how opposite the schools are for being in the same state. Tech is in a small bible-belt town that has slowly built up a respectable football program and keeps climbing up the football totem pole. While Tulane is in a big city that's known for being the opposite of the bible belt. It had a huge football program back in the day and was in the best conference but has been steadily regressing in the football world for decades now.

USM/UAB is a better rivalry than Tulane/USM. Memphis and USM have always been UAB's biggest.

Was just about to post this. Once they are a D1A school, they will be cleaning up in Hampton Roads and Newport News. Factor in a few kids from Richmond and Nova/DC... they could put themselves on UVa's level (talent wise) sooner than you'd think.

Not to mention enrollment wise they are 4th largest in the state at 24K. (behind only Va Tech as a football sponsoring school)

Wow this is terrible for football. In four years ECU goes from beating WVU and VT and being talked about joining bigger and better conferences, to being stuck in this shite. Southern Miss is another school that has had lots of success, more-so than ECU. Hell, Charlotte is playing their FIRST college football season EVER in 2014. They are currently picking up football recruits at the division II talent level
