That's cool. How does your wife look? Is she in a lot better shape?
My experiences with people who do Crossfit are they either look the same (and they do every single workout and go crazy on social media) or they get completely yoked and look fantastic (and they hardly ever post on social media).

The hero wods are named after fallen soldiers/officers. The girl wods (Karen,Fran,Helen) are named after hurricanes I believe. Typically the vest comes on in Hero Wods if you're up for it to pay tribute to the fallen soldier as mentioned above.
And yes Murph is named after Lt Michael Murphy who was the decorated SEAL shown in Lone Survivor.

She literally looks the same but hardly ever posts about it on social media.

Gayle hatch endorses CrossFit, old man
I bet he does. He is an authority on Olympic lifts, which crosscult tries to adopt. Good for his business.
But I'm willing to bet some of the best crosscult coaches trained under Hatch or at least consulted with him. In the BR area, I mean.

So even though some of the most elite soldiers have adopted this style of exercising and depend on it with their life.. You're going to degrade them by saying their in a cult? That's cool.

Ahh, so now the leading authority in the US (maybe world) on Olympic lifts endorses it, and you claim it is just because it is good for buswiness. Troll.

Gonna have to ask for a link again
And what do you mean by "this style of exercise"?
And you're kinda proving that whole cult thing in this thread

Try using your words
Pretty sure special forces have much harder workouts long before crossfit was a thing
Ah, that's just what your link proves

Now, if this is thrown in the middle of other heats and workouts, then yeah that's pretty tough. But, if you think that kind of workout, in under an hour, is intimidating to me, then I really can't help but laugh.
The fastest ive done it is 33mins
Its not easy. 200 pushups in 2 mins Give me a break if you can do 200 in 2 mins those are not real push ups or you are in better shape the most people in special operations.

Here is my two cents...Crossfit is like Golds or any gym you go to.
There is a 10-15% of people who go to these places who are crazy and can only talk about how much they bench, squat, etc.
The people who want to compete at the crossfit games are hardcore and very good at exercise.
Since I am now an OWG, a couple years ago, i decided to give crossfit a try. I played football for VT, so this was just about exercise, not setting any records. I enjoyed the fact that there was a blend of lifts and short intense workouts that get you out an hour. Plus you throw in it is with a group, and that motivates me more.
I live rather close to Fort Belvoir and Pentagan in DC so we have lots of active military in our gym, so there is a very competitive vibe.
But the issues I have with crossfit:
* Lifting can really screw you up if you do not do it right, and I would say that 80% of those in crossfit are not really following the procedures. Now if you are at Golds and mess up, it is ok, as a larger percentage use machines and they are more forgivable
* Not enough focus on stretching/flexibility
* Aerobic is given lip service, and I believe that distance running needs to be part of the rotation. Carrying a 20lb ball 400 meters in a workout a couple times a week is different.
If you like group exercises, I recommend it. But if you are person who likes to go in and do your workout, stay away.

My old knees cannot take the airsquats
The pushups are my break.

I can assure you, I do real pushups. Maybe 2 minutes is too optimistic. Nonetheless, my point is I know I would not have any trouble doing Murph in under an hour. And, maybe I am in better shape than most people in special operations. Doesn't mean I could do their jobs better.

I'd say that is a pretty good take on it

Real push up you face is looking forward and break 90, not looking down like so many people do .
Doing 100+ in 2mins is far exceeding any military standard for max points on a PT test. B/c its not easy.

The work out is not that hard that it should take more than an hour

No chance in hell, when a major part of their job is working out. Stop trolling.

No need to get upset. I'm pretty sure I can do things they can't do. Fitness levels are different.

Well I max out push ups and sit ups on every pt test ive taken during 5 years of active duty. Running a sub 7 min mile is easy for me.
