Running different plays out of the same formations and personell groups is always a good idea

This was a cool video I saw about BAL changing up base defensive paradigms with a pure 3 safety D.

Interesting watch. Thanks for posting.

So what you are saying is that you don’t like that.

I don’t think a guy like cousins cares that much about money. I think he loves football and competing and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he coaches at some level.

Kirk Cousins is a leader of men. He will coach at high levels if he wants to. Go listen to his speech at the big ten media day luncheon his senior year.

People do shite on the NFL for making it easier for offense and passing and protecting the QB but NFL (and college) defense coordinators are so far out ahead of the offense in terms of complexity and making life hell for offensive coordinators

I feel like we have seen a resurgence in running the ball

In football, much like fashion, trends and styles tend to end up eventually coming around again. Defenses are not only playing higher to prevent big passing plays, but they also got significantly smaller/lighter in recent years so they could play faster to keep up with explosive offenses. Best way to combat both of those tactics is to run the ball down teams' throats. It's what made the Eagles so effective last year and won them a Super Bowl. Not much you can do to defend an offense if they can just flat out manhandle you and rip off big runs.

With the thousands of hours of stupid shite broadcast around the game of football every week, why don't even get in-depth analysis like this instead?

Agreed. It's what makes Brady as a broadcaster so frustrating. They literally run those "What if you had the brain of Tom Brady" commercials on Fox, but then during the game broadcast he rarely shares any of his knowledge or takes us inside the game. It's just the same "Wow, what a play, KB!" stuff that everyone else does. At least with Collinsworth that type of unbridled enthusiasm comes off as sincere. Brady is such an off-putting robot when he does it it just seems weird. Maybe the focus groups say people don't really want the in-depth analysis in game, it just seems like if they're not going to lean on his football expertise then what is he there for (because it's certainly not his personality).

Because the average viewer is an idiot. This goes for all media or entertainment. Everything is dumbed down to appeal to the masses.

Check out the prime vision feed of the game tonight if you have Amazon. It will dive into some deeper stats and explanations than the main broadcast. It also shows all the pre play motions and routes through a madden like camera view.

Gained a lot of respect for him after seeing this.

Dude knows his shite.

I can see him as a high school coach here in the Atlanta area after he's done playing.

Brady is petty that’s why

Earlier this year he said QBs now suck and that’s why they don’t throw for as many yards. He knows he is full of shite but has that Jordan insecurity

Two reasons… first, reporters are asking questions to get a quote for a story they’re working on. Unless they’re writing an in depth X’s and O’s article, they’re going to ask other questions. They’re not asking questions as a fan of football, they need quotes for their articles.

And secondly, coaches and players don’t want to explain what they’re doing out there. They don’t want to give anything away, and they just want to give standard answers because they really don’t want to be answering questions anyway. They’re only there because they have to be.

But yes, I’d love to get questions and answers like this more often.
