i dont think it would make much difference

unless of course you just stopped playing all together

D-2 is comparable to a rec league at a big school, like say LSU. THey have some good players, but there is a reason they are playing D-2.

I don't agree with this. Let me use myself for an example. I believe I would have flourished playing at Nicholls for 4 years. I also believe that I would have flourished ata D-2 school if I chose that path. The problem is, when I was in HS, there wasn't even a public internet, and my coach did nothing for me or anyone else on my team. We had one guy who was the Gatorade player of the year in LA, and played at LSU for 3 years. He got himself recruited via AAU and his obvious skills. But if I had a coach worth a shite, and maybe even the internet, i could have gotten myself put out there for a D2 school. And I would have taken an offer if it was a good fit.

because D-2 basketball is shitty. They have HS teams that can beat D-2 teams. 20 people show up to watch that bull shite. Ive played in mens leagues more exciting.

That's true. Really good high schools can some year if they have some big recruits. Baylor sure as hell can't.

she wouldn't have to stay in front of you every possession. She could chase you down and still block your shot.

I play with 6'8" dudes that can't do that. People are way over estimating her size advantage. 6'8" is huge for a girl. It is pretty normal in men's basketball.

Her height wouldn't be a big advantage over me. She would have trouble scoring as she isn't going to be able to dribble in or back me down very often.

Exacly - she is slow as shite and she can't jump. If you can shoot from the perimeter and have good skill she's toast - she'll never catch you once you blow by.

in a half court 1 on 1 game? Come on.

6'8" vs anyone around 6' is a huge mistmatch. Man or woman.

in this case, a skilled woman.

she's skilled. She could shot over you or just as easily dribble around you to get her shot

She's dunked probably less than 10 times in her years at Baylor. Against girls. Shut up about her shot blocking.

Big, tall skinnys have a hard time dribbling down to the post from the top of the key. She couldn't just back you down and as slow and as long as she is, a steal would be there a number of times.

Yes. Decent basketball players know how to use their bodies, angles and the rim to avoid having shots blocked. It is pretty basic. Also, I can get up as high or higher than she can. She may get lucky and get hand on one or two, but it wouldn't be many.

It is. I'm not six foot. I'm a little over 6'4". Also, speed, quickness and ball handling are going to be more important than size in one on one game.

She could shot over you
She doesn't have that kind of range to hit very many contested jumpers from outside.

How in the hell is she going to do that. Have you seen here dribble more than a couple of times. She isn't a ball handler.

who gives a shite if she dunks or not. Have you ever stood next to a 6'8" person in your life?

She has great timing. She would eat up most smaller guys.

Exactly. This right here is the reason elite girls in soccer/tennis/etc can beat pretty good boys, but girls in volleyball/basketball can not. Her big advantage is that she is freakishly tall. She is the equivalent of a 7'4" man. Take the coordination of a 7'4" man and shrink him 8 inches whilst giving him no extra skill or body control. Now you have Britney Griner.

Semoine Augustus will be much closer in talent to a good high school guard than Griner would be to a good high school forward. The 7 inch standard deviation guys have in height can only be overcame by shrinking the boys population incredibly. So out of a random group of only 20 college guys, maybe Griner would be the best.

I saw billy Donovan get on his knees and matt bonner tried to block him and couldn't. The point is most blocks come from help side defense, and with proper technique you can negate the length around the goal.

Well I am 6'5" and have stood next to 7 footers. My uncle is 6'6" and I've played against him. Mind you, I am a real 6'5". If I was playing basketball, I would be listed as 6'6". She's not that tall for a mens basketball player. She's tall for a woman basketball player. Don't try to stretch it too far.

she is still equivalent to a 7'4" when she is playing men the same size as the women she plays.

No one here is claiming she can beat real college basketball players. Certainly not me.

Again, I would be utterly shocked if she could take more than 3 coordinated dribbles towards the basket with someone playing tight defense on her without her picking up her dribble or losing the ball.

There aren't many 6'8" guys with the coordination to take a small guard off the dribble. I highly doubt she could do it.

you dont think a lot of blocks would happen if a 6'8" played a 6' player?

you people are crazy.

she doesn't even have to block shots. Her mere size would alter them.

We are not talking about a 5 on 5 game with equal height matches and help defense.

i know Slyvia Fowles could
