Posted by the paradigm on 9/17/17 at 10:51 pm Not sure if anyone knows but Miles was in the booth calling the game this past weekend between Nebraska and N. Illinois, which was won by the Huskies. Nice-guy Mike Riley's seat is heating up quickly, and Miles is the #1 name being mentioned as a replacement. His son is a freshman fullback for the Huskers.

I love this "I'm hearing..." bull shite.

Yeah, Miles is the #1 name being mentioned. By you.

this is what piss poor leadership looks like. This guy is the 2nd worst AD in Nebraska History, with good ole Steve pederson being #1

Eichorst sounds like an aggressively odd person.

I read a piece in one of the Nebraska papers yesterday that outlined his weird, antisocial behavior and how he'll make these proclamations and then just disappear for weeks on end. I dug up the piece on what Bo Pelini said about him in his farewell address to the players, and it sounded pretty spot on.

They can do better.
With whom? This isn't 1995. Nebraska is in the middle of the god damn country with no solid recruiting base. All of the best players are 6+ hours away. I could see Bret Bielema working their and turning them into a Wisconsin type and Miles would do the same thing, but that is their ceiling

What makes anyone think Les Miles can win at Nebraska when he had some of the best talent in the country in his own backyard and still couldn't win the SEC?

He doesn't have to win in the SEC anymore. The Big 10 West is pretty much a dog shite taco.

Well let's see. The B1G west consists of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Illinois and Northwestern. Wisconsin would be your only game to win the west.

I remember Nebraska getting big Leroy Etienne from my home town. Must been 1985, linebacker

It turned me into a quasi-Nebraska fan for those years he played.

Yeah, thank god for that.

Instead of Saban...

He would just have Harbaugh and Meyer every year.
Are they truly hard to overcome? He'd be in the B1G west so he wouldn't have to face them every year. Harbaugh and Meyer are a bit overrated if you ask me, especially Harbaugh. Meyer can get back to form with the right QB and if his offense gets back to form. Miles just has to beat Wisconsin and he pretty much has the West locked down.

les would walk to NU but at his age do you really think NU officials will hire someone around 64 to rebuild that program. I don't think so. Hire the NIU guy

“A guy like (Eichorst) who has no integrity, he doesn’t even understand what a core value is,” Pelini told players. “And he hasn’t understood it from the day he got here. I saw it when I first met with the guy.

“To have core values means you have to be about something, you have to represent something that is important to you. He’s a f------ lawyer who makes policies. That’s all he’s done since he’s been here: Hire people and make policies to cover his own arse.”

The World-Herald on Wednesday received an audiotape of Pelini’s remarks that night. He spoke conversationally, seldom raising his voice. It’s a rare glimpse into the mindset of a coach who increasingly felt besieged by his own administration and fan base.

On the recording, Pelini expresses gratitude, support and advice for players. The majority of the tape, however, reveals Pelini’s thoughts about Eichorst. In the first minute of his talk, he uses two vulgarities associated with female genitalia to describe his former boss.

“I didn’t really have any relationship with the A.D.,” Pelini said. “The guy, you guys saw him (Sunday), the guy’s a total p----. I mean, he is. He’s a total c---.”

Eichorst’s athletic department responded via statement late Wednesday afternoon, making clear that Pelini’s pattern of unprofessional behavior played a role in his firing.

“If these comments were, indeed, spoken by Mr. Pelini, we are extremely disappointed, but it only reaffirms the decision that he should no longer be a leader of young men at Nebraska,” the statement said.

“His habitual use of inappropriate language, and his personal and professional attacks on administrators, are antithetical to the values of our university. His behavior is consistent with a pattern of unprofessional, disrespectful behavior directed by Mr. Pelini toward the passionate fans of Nebraska, employees of the university and, most concerning, our student-athletes. This behavior is not tolerated at the University of Nebraska and, among many other concerns, played a role in his dismissal.”

UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman declined to comment Wednesday.

Pelini was fired Nov. 30 and is due to receive a $7.9 million buyout

But the ad was right about pelini using that kind of language.

Since I don't follow this much, how horrible is the ad? And why was he hired? Wouldn't the person above him need to be fired too if things need to change?

It would be more Okie lite State and more 6-6 seasons like he had before LSU.

OSU was barely winning 2 games before Les went there. He turned that shite program around.
