I think I looked at the timing on this once and the tattoogate type stuff was way in its infancy when Urbs stepped down. There is no way he knew it would blow up into Tressel leaving. I do think he legitimately thought he wouldn't coach again.

Not everyone gets their information from the internet you fricking idiot

I hear this all the time but it's complete nonsense. When Urban quit, Tressels job at OSU was as secure as a coach can be. No one thought the OSU job would be opening up anytime soon.
Stop. You're making too much sense for this board.

He is dead on balls accurate here. This should be the motto when a new coach comes in. Herman is making a mistake if he starts to blame the players and former coaches.
THIS!

Although this board acts like Bama lost buy four touchdowns but in reality it was only one.
Regardless, Saban and Meyer are 2-2 against each other
One has 3 national titles at 53, one has 5 at 65
Neither is scared of the other

all i heard was how much talent charlie strong left behind for the next coach...he had baked the cake. is this no longer the case or is herman being exposed?
Depends on what the Austin spin machine decides upon

OSU was down 21-6 and was up 35-21 or something at a point later. People look at that and see domination of a game through the entire 40 minutes in the middle. I don't
It's a bit similar to OSU/LSU in 2007. I don't think that game would be viewed as a blowout if it wasn't coming off the heels of 41-14 the year before

Losing to Bama is the result of having inferior talent. Giving up 51 to Maryland at home is not.
This is why I have said since 2014 that Kevin Sumlin wouldn't get it done at A&M. Good coaches lose to better teams, but they don't let things like 59-0 happen.

Urban himself said our program was "broken" when he left...

I have never seen or heard a current head coach promote former players from other schools directly onto their current schools marketing materials.
When Kiffin was at Tennessee he showed the UT players video highlights of USC and USC stars and said, "We're gonna be the USC of the SEC!"
Apperently from what some of them said later on, the Tennessee players thought it was tacky and hated it.

Ohio state won like 6-7 straight B1G titles before Urbs got there. With the exception of the year Tressel got fired. But I love how people try to act like he reinvented Ohio state football.

And Mike Shula is 1-1 against Urban.

Did Kirby take credit for all the Alabama guys in the NFL when he came over? I would be curious if that does happen a lot
I don't think he necessarily took credit for it, but he absolutely used it in recruiting players over the last couple years.
You have to try and promote your previous success, especially when you're at a school that has been horrendous recently like Herman is.

If that's the case then we have 11 SEC titles instead of 8. Can't have it both ways.

This is a recruiting pitch by Meyer.
