at 5'9 170 and lean he could honestly put on a good 10-15 more body building pounds and look like a shredded Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, or Shawn Michaels. Wrestlers lie about their weight/height/hgh usage all the time. In 3 months with boots you could be looking at a Conor that is 5'11 and 210lbs. If his ring skills are average he could headline off marketability alone.

That's still nothing compared to 6'3 265 pound Roman Reigns (the current undisputed world heavyweight champ).

Not even close. The UFC is the #1 MMA promotion in the world. While the money he has made is substantial, relatively speaking, it is not "F You" money like many professional athletes have made...not even close.

He will come back begging behind the scenes within a year and Dana will hold all of the cards, as is always the case in this sport at the moment.

So, based on the language posted earlier about drug testing loopholes, he can't fight for 4 months now, right?

True, Punk was "listed" at 220. Him and Daniel Bryan were both on the small side for a champion star.

Currently AJ Styles is listed at 5'10 215 (and looks smaller than that) so I would assume McGregor could get to a similar size.

We all know WWE is scripted, but the believability of match ups that you can buy into is a big factor in certain angles success, people buy into styles potentially beating reigns, so a legit fighter like McGregor would have no problem getting people to buy in.

Connor should follow Rousey and get into acting. Maybe they can co-star together in a movie.

Rogan said after everything he made easily 5 mil for aldo fight and a "boat load" more for the diaz fight

If he wants more money 200 is not the card to get all of it..lots of big names have to get their cut on that cas..wait till 201.

Also im glad rogan is only ufc guy with balls to b all out the conor fought a giant 2 weight classes above him...he said on fight night when in ring there was maybe 6 pound difference between the 2

Daniel Bryan is billed at 5'10" 190 lbs and is the most profitable wrestler they have had since the Rock....

It's definitely time for a fighters union as much as I hate unions.

When you have fighters begging for donations for medical expenses for their children and when you consider the amount of damage they endure and the short lifespan of a MMA career.

The young guys coming up dont make enough to break even and Lorenzo is bragging that the UFC is bigger than the NFL.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Culinary Union doesn't attempt to organize the Fighters and fight camps.

I hate the bullshite that Unions bring and the PPV costs would probably go into triple digits but the fighters (hell all Americans) deserve to have some basic health coverage and catastrophic injury insurance.

Too many of the fighters are trashy idiots and will never have the brains to do this

That was a bullshite cop-out that Dana used to protect the golden goose. Remember that he had fought the UFC equivalent of undersized cans up to the Aldo fight, then he was the giant against Aldo. Sure, Diaz was a "giant" compared to the guys McGoober had been fighting, but they used the catch weight to guard the golden goose. Diaz is taller, but slimmer than McGoober. It's not like they had GSP come in and cut to 155.

Can you explain this? Do these fighters work as fry cooks on the side?

Ariel Helwani just said on dan patrick that this will definitely hurt the ufc because connor is by far and away the biggest draw, and he says the biggest draw in ufc history. He said they will feel it. Should be interdasting...

Instead of being a smart arse I'm just gonna give you the reasoning.

The culinary union was the leading force that kept the UFC and professional MMA out of New York for the last 16 years.

They've picketed and attacked the Fertittas and Station Casino employees because Station has to date been successful in keeping their casinos non-union. The union's butt buddy that blocked MMA legislation in NY was booted out of office amid a corruption scandal that is tied in w/ the labor unions and bribes with one of those specifically being the culinary union.

The culinary union has a lot of clout in a town like Vegas, they have a piece of the supply chain to the casinos, nightclubs and restaurants etc. They won't go away quietly, they've fought Station for decades.

The reasonable conclusion is to find a soft spot, and unionizing MMA fighters forcing a collective bargaining agreement to chip away and erode the UFC's competitive monopoly in the sport would be something the Culinary union would love to accomplish along with the hit to the Fertittas side piece that has become a $2Billion/yr plus entity, getting a piece of every fight payout would add up throughout a year and make the effort well worth it.

I disagree. They could have had him fight someone else that would have been an easier opponent if they wanted to protect him.

No, they got their cake and ate it, too. They gave him a challenge to try to prove him, but left the catch weight as an excuse for losing.
