Refused to Promote Fight

Which is funny if true because the guy was a promoting machine for the company before this. Danna used the dude up and whored him out to anyone and everyone. So now the guy wants to train and Dana is like, nah, you need to promote more

Or maybe his people informed him that he pissed hot and wouldn't pass USADA right now so he's "retiring."

man the UFC is such a clusterfrick. Can't put together a decent card to save their lives anymore.

Where are you getting this shite from? I'd believe he's just getting cold feet over fighting a full camp Diaz over that nonsense.

Maybe he just needs more time to work on his script for the press conference. Getting choked out tends to lead to writer's block.

Looking for a new opponent for Nate and adding another fight. Assuming the new fight will be the main.

RDA is scheduled to defend his belt on Fight Pass that same weekend so I would assume they are going to move him onto UFC to fight Diaz for the belt at 155. That's not exactly a fight worthy of headlining UFC 200 so I am sure they are doing ANYTHING they can to get GSP to come back and fight Lawler as the Main Event since Lawler is the only champ that is free. Another option for the ME, which would be an amazing option, would be to have Jones-DC. If/when Jones wins this weekend, especially if he just dominated OSP, 2.5 months would be plenty of time him to train for DC and DC is allowed to start training this week as well so he could also get a full camp in.

Not even close. More reports are coming out now and it's just a money issue.

Sounds like Dana is scrambling to switch the narrative after his cash cow quit on him

It was definitely a money thing though, refusing to promote the fight? That doesn't make sense unless Connor wanted more money.

This likely gets resolved as well since Connor is by far the biggest draw for UFC right now and I think they feel it with him leaving them.

Additionally UFC 200 needs to be a top notch card, what are they going to do to make it that now?

Shawn Michaels reference, nice

Difficult to see him leaving. He wanted to be the first to earn $100 million and he knows that requires in an incredible amount of promotion, looking at the man who perfected it, Mayweather. Glad to see him playing hardball with the UFC though

Why not? Already a multi millionaire. Surprised more players/fighters don't retire younger.

The UFC really fricked up w/ their long term planning. They keep making missteps and fighters can't stay healthy.

Also....

why is Dana announcing this on ESPN? If I were FOX I'd be super pissed that the UFC is making these type of announcements on their competitor's shows instead of breaking the news on FOX, who pays the UFC big money for TV rights.
