now they receive a split of 90% of all earnings between themselves and the women.
The deal wouldve worked for them if the women didn't suck. Under the previous deal where the men didn't split they wouldve got around $6.2 million (47% of 13 million), instead they will get $6.7 million (45% of 15 million)
they couldve negotiated better, but the deal didn't frick them out of 40% of their earnings by any means compared to the previous deal.
In 2014 the men received $187k per player for their world cup finish, last year they earned 300k per player before the tournament even started.

I wasn’t the one that brought it up, only replying to first person that said he couldn’t understand it.
But yes, we haven’t seen a full cycle of it yet, but we have a lot of very highly talented athletes playing soccer. We’ll have to give it another 10-15 years to see it though.
Soccer is the number 1 kids sport, statistically you are going to have highly talented athletes in this group.

I agree with you.
However, what the men make from national team duty is like added bonus money over and above what they are paid by their clubs. Thus, they have a bit of house money to virtue signal AND avoid being canceled by the media.
I can almost assure you that all the fawning pieces on ESPN about this failed USWNT would NEVER happen in any other nation, even other woke nations. Women's soccer players in the U.S. are coddled beyond belief. Same applies, to an extent, to the men. Remember Stu Holden's explosion in 2017 after the US men were bounced from World Cup qualifying. He and Alexi were the only ones bringing any kind of heat for such abject failure.
