Did you wake up motivated?
Who was I talking about when I said that? And what point was I making?

Colorado now averages double-digit penalties and they are the most penalized team in the nation.
Is this part of what makes Prime a coaching genius?

And they could not win another game, but he is damn sure going to be able to recruit better after all that attention, and recruiting is the name of the game.
They're sitting 66th right now in the 247 rankings with 9 commits for the '24 class. 2 4 stars and 7 3stars. He better start signing some players or its only going to get worse.
And only one of those commits is a 3 star interior O-lineman.

Step 1 to having the first shred of credibility in the profession would probably be to stop calling yourself a nickname like you're a little kid playing make believe.
Grown men are playing (and coaching) a little kids' game for a living (NIL counts). More power to them. IMHO it is OK for them to have nicknames, even if they are a bit silly sometimes.

Do you think he doesn't have a plan?
Do you think there aren't guys all over the country that would like to play with Colorado because of Deion?
Would you be interested in Colorado's recruiting class if Deion wasn't the coach?
(Average "ranking" of 50.75 in the four years prior to Deion.)

The Deion fanatics on this board assured everyone that he would kill it on the recruiting trail, wherever he went. That's not been happening at Colorado so far, despite the non-stop media attention, which is why people are interested.

Repost that so we can see what you're referring to.
Do you not think he's going to have a higher level class than what Colorado was getting previously?

Maybe there are. But if so, why aren't they committing?

That's an extremely low bar.
247 Team Recruiting Rankings 2024
Colorado currently ranks 66, one spot ahead of Tulane. They have 9 commits. They are last in the Pac 12. They are also below Colorado State, USF and East Carolina.

Why prejudge the class before it's finalized?
We can start pulling up old threads full of posters saying what a disaster the overhaul was...
You know commitments often get arranged before they're known about and listed on the sites?

And?
Colorado doesn't have a lot of football talent in the state.
What's your point?

All I can do is tell you where things stand today. Can Colorado improve? Of course. But so can everyone else. But the early signing period is barely a month away and most major programs are nearly full. There are not a lot of premier players available.
This will be another portal class for Colorado, which is fine, but that's a crap shoot.

What's your point here?
Are you just searching for negative narratives?
Also, on your OP, every team does critical evaluations of themselves after games. Honest self-assessment that leads to changes and improvements is one of the most interesting and fun aspects of football to me. Good teams are good at doing that.
That's really all Klatt was doing. Thread title is an overly dramatic distortion.

Deion didnt exactly temper expectations after the first game by beating his chest & acting like an arse to every reporter in the room.
While true, I swear every ESPN tweet/instagram post was Colorado for a solid 3 weeks. They ran with that shite.

Why do you feel the need to defend Colorado and Deion?
There are 100 new threads a day on this board and others, blasting players, coaches, etc., for bad play, poor decisions, etc.
Why are you Deion's savior?

I don't like false media narratives, and that's all Deion and Colorado are - flash, no substance. He can't coach, and apparently can't recruit either.

It is fascinating to watch how the whole Colorado story unfolds. The recruiting is going to be fascinating. Sanders has the money to go hard with NIL and secure alot of transfers (like he did last season). There are just not a ton of high impact guys he can get, since front-line starters usually don't need to move. But there will be some big names I believe that he will pull. Their HS class might not be top 50. But his transfer class will probably be top 20.
The really interesting part is how much he is going to have to replace. He is losing the bulk on both lines. So, he needs starters and depth. Sanders, the QB, is a likely 1st rounder, so I'd imagine its 50/50 he is gone. I don't know if Hunter plays next year. He's a lock top 5 pick (ala Chase). Why risk it? There will be some other guys transferring out as well. I could see a 30+ transfer class coming in..

A top 50 signee class plus a top 20 portal class is awful.

I've liked Deion for years, well before people like you started hating and twisting narratives about Colorado. (I had a friend I played football with in the mid-90s that got me into Deion. He wore #21, and modeled his game after Deion, and really played well above his talent level. Incidentally, he was white.)
See the video I linked earlier for an example of why. I resonate with that. But if you have read my posts, they have not all defended Deion.

There's a lot of nonsense in those threads. Just like this one.
quote:
Deion and Colorado are - flash, no substance. He can't coach
Deion is one of the best athletes in the past 100+ years of sports. That's why there has been so much media coverage.
If that makes you mad, you could follow different media, different teams and coaches. But no, you're into the games, the recruiting, the minutiae, because you're a hater.
He's already revamped one of the worst teams in FBS football.
Colorado won one game and was getting blown out worse than any team in FBS last year. Now they already have 4 wins, media coverage and an upward trajectory that no one at Colorado would've dreamed of before Deion.
Were you interested in Colorado's games last year? Have you been interested in any of Stanford's other games this year? Don't skip these questions. This tells you all you need to know about how well the program has been revamped in less than a year.
quote:
can't recruit
This is a Luginbill-level faceplant narrative.
How many other times has Jackson State signed the #1 player in the nation?
How many 5-star cornerbacks from Florida did Colorado sign before Deion?
How many threads did the MSB have full of posters distorting narratives about how awful the overhaul was? And how awful things would be with all the transfer players?
Posted on 10/18/23 at 11:56 pm to Bjorn Cyborg
How about Jackson State being ranked 71 in 2022? (Ahead of almost half the FBS programs in the country.) Did you take that into account in your analysis of the recruiting rankings?
When was the last time an HBCU ranked that high?
