Because your skills are not in demand in whatever field you are working in. That is no ones fault but your own

This is about the dumbest take I've ever seen on here.... No they don't offer that stuff because they pay me plenty enough for me to afford that on my own.

I’m guessing millions of people don’t watch you do your job on tv and 100,000 people don’t watch you do it in person.

They play a game, football isn't necessary the field I work in is.

NIL money paid at the completion of the season (including bowls) would clear a lot of that mess up.

You know NIL deals are with third parties, right?

At that point they are paid agents of local boosters using the college team’s brand. Why should the university continue to pay for the scholarship, food, room and board etc especially when said players can just bolt to another school on a whim?

Just change for the sake of change these days. We are deevolving as a society and throwing the baby out with the bath water across all strata of society.

Why should transfers have to sit a year? If any other student wants to change schools they don’t have to sit out a year before they start taking classes

U can’t be serious. C’mon man.

Are those students getting tens of thousands of dollars invested in them to play for the team? No they aren’t.

There has to be some sort of penalty for the good of the game. And this will actually benefit the athletes. Read gut now there are more kids in the portal than actual spots open to fill. With a year penalty, it will greatly diminish the transfers and keep the kids in programs where they have a chance to improve while getting all the perks a regular student does not.
