I thought he was all against select schools. Isn’t that something.

Did he retire from the public system or is he just moving over to HC? We've seen this where coaches will retire and move to private schools for basically 2 checks. Smart move imo.

Damn. Salt is a good coach. Any idea if Hahnville has anyone good lined up to replace him?

I’m not sure he had enough years in to get that.

He’s just a giant hypocrite. He blasted select schools to anyone that would listen while at EJ and Hahnville. Let’s see him man up now and only take kids in his attendance zone.

No. Valden is the only one of the past 3 Hahnville HCs to have a state championship. Salt & Scott Hildebrand got there once each, but never won.

But I'm OK with this. Salt had a bit of a Les Miles syndrome where he was a bit stubborn in changing his offensive philosophy to suit the players he had. Also, I saw too many times where he waited way too long to make in-game adjustments as well.

Hahnville & Destrehan both having new coaches in the same season is a rarity though. Interesting to see how things work out.

There will be many, hopefully one believes in an offense that doesn't rely on running one kid to death.

This was my first thought when I saw St. Charles Herald Guide article on Salt leaving.

Destrehan had 28 applicants for their HC job, I'd imagine Hahnville will have just as many. Daniel Luquet who was Woodlawn-BR head coach for a few years was the OC last season. Curious if he applies for the HC job

my bad... so the last 4 all went to the dome scott was way too good of a guy and coach to be as unpopular as he was there.

Also said he was head coach at Abbeville from 1987-1991 but he was an assistant coach under Gruber coaching me at HC in 1988-1989.

Sad they screwed the press release up so bad.
