I agree. why does he feel he should do that? why is he involving himself in their celebration?

Yep, K couldn't resist. He got beat by something called Mercer so why not play the good guy role

What about when Bill Snydet wrote the letter to the NDSU QB after they upset K State in football? Who thought that was outrageous?

Classy move

Visting a locker room when you know it will attract media attention and make you look "good", is not the same as a private phone call

I like coach K. I just think it is holier than thou for him to do this

Wait, what? He was celebrating with them? God, some of you look for anything to bitch about.

Would everyone feel the same way if mercer had lost and their coach visited Duke?

K probably wouldn't let him in.

I mean, I can appreciate it, and these players probably do, but I don't think it was proper or a "classy" gesture.
The classy thing is to accept defeat and maybe to acknowledge the coach privately and have him relay your message to his team.

I call bullshite. This is a P.R. recruiting move as clear as frickin' day. Yes, he's a great coach. Yes, he's a man of integrity and class. But call this for what it is. He had zero business for doing this other than P.R.

It doesn't appear you are qualified to determine what is or isn't a well coached team. Why don't you let Coach K do his job?

It doesn't have a negative effect on anyone and the Mercer players obviously enjoyed it, so what is the problem?

I like K but that was very patronizing.

Maybe he was drunk, kind of like when Shooter stumbled onto the court in Hoosiers

From the ESPN article is sounds like he was on his way out the arena after the game, passed their locker room, then decided to go back and congratulate them personally and kind of give them a little motivation/confidence booster.

Its not like the guy made a b line there right after the game to steal their thunder.

Because maybe he felt that being congratuated by the greatest college basketball coach of their time might possibly add to their already fantastic tournament experience?

I thought it was awesome. Dont hate bro.

You people are fricking idiots. I am so very glad I do not live any of your lives if you are so incapable of seeing good in something as simple as this. Ya'll must live every day thinking every human on earth is an a-hole of some kind. pretty sad way to live.

That's funny, the Mercer players sounded like it was a generous, classy gesture and enjoyed it. But I'm sure you were there too.

at least he didn't send the asst coach on his behalf.......

I like Coach K. He's a hell of a basketball coach, and he's even better of a man.
