that's fine, then just own that. I'll even choose to believe him regarding Kobe.

but acting like its a shared blame situation is ridiculous.

Yeah his apology and rationale made no sense.

He misheard something and was in a bad mood so he snapped at a group of people who weren’t doing anything wrong. He should have just said that.

Everyone hates the best. Coach K is the man. Integrity, intensity, and a winner.

At least he apologized after doing something that was actually douchy.

Coach K is such a pretentious prick. If the student section isn't interfering with the game then he shouldn't address them other than to maybe thank them for their support.

Did he really though? In my book "I'm sorry but..." isn't an apology. It shows no real remorse or ownership of your actions. It just a person acknowledging that other people are critical of my actions so I need to say something to appease them but I'm not taking full responsibility.

Its weak and worse than not saying anything at all.

Also, frick him. He doesn't get to tell the students or any of the paying fans how to cheer.

He’s gonna go down as one of the top 5 college coaches of all time, regardless of sport, and has done more to damage that reputation in the last 6 years than the 30 years prior.

I won’t let my girlfriends kids watch Duke games anymore because he yelled at his student section and lectured an opposing player.

He has lost it. I’m sorry. Seriously I wonder if he’s going senile because his outburst was inexplicable, inappropriate and baffling, then his non-apology apology was all the more senseless and pathetic. So he is either slipping in some sort of sad way or the man is an idiot and a jerk.

You can say Coach K is a douche but him being on edge bc of Kobe’s death makes total sense to me

“Coach, I just got a T because I was sad about Kobe”

“Coach, I was late for practice because I was sad about Kobe”

“ Coach, I’m failing classes because I’m sad about Kobe”

“Coach, I threw punches in that game because I was sad about Kobe”

He wouldn’t accept any of that BS from his amateur athletes, I’m not going to accept this BS accuse from a professional.

His outburst was wrong. Issuing a non-apology and then blaming Kobe’s death and the students themselves makes him a complete jackass.

Are you saying that’s the only controversy Coach K has faced the last 6 years?

Yeah but apparently it’s something they do regularly to someone they deem as a friend to the program or as a sign of respect. He should be used to hearing the “sit with us” part. His reaction was so emotional and sudden. Like it was completely foreign to him. He only heard an insult
