I know he is playing for a contender now, but how bad do you think he feels abou the Phillies right now? About 6 months ago, the Phillies thought Roy Halladay was better so they got him and traded you to Seattle. Now the trade for Roy Oswalt to make a great postseason run this year. What do you guys think about this?

Actually, it was reported yesterday in Philly, by newscaster Randy J Miller, that a Phillie player, says Lee told him, he wishes to sign with the Yankees or Phillies this next offseason.

But, the Yanks needing a Petitte replacement eventually for nasty lefty, coupled to his and CC's friendship(wives even more so), and the Phils signing Oswalt, seems to have again closed the door on this possibility..

Unless, Philly can move Blanton, Kendrick, Ibanez..to attempt Lee move..and even then..there is Werth to attempt resigning on the open market.

Cliff Lee a Yankee in 2011..more than a 50/50 prop.

P.S. Phils offered Lee a three year deal at 18M per year, it was rejected, then rather than counter and talks, they unceremoniously moved him for a bag of rocks in Aumont, Gillies, and Romero.

I love having him, but I feel bad for the guy. I hope whoever signs him next season (I would love for it to be the Rangers, but they probably won't have the funds) puts a no-trade clause in the contract. I heard that Lee will pretty much only consider contracts with the clause because he's tired of being tossed around like a rag doll. 4 teams in under two seasons... Sucks arse.

Lee will be knocking down 12-15mil a year on his new deal. Phils just made a "we tried" offer with that bullshite

That's 18M per they offered..3yr-54M.

Cliff Lee wants, and will be in CC Sabathia range, even in a newly "downtrodden" market..

Expect something like 4 years(maybe 5?) at 20 to 25M per yr. NYY will match any other team's offers, and/or offer him that fifth year. And a no-trade clause will be mandatory!

Think along the lines of 5 yr-100M..give or take.

The poster darbour21's brother is a close friend of Cliff Lee, as is he. He says expect CC and CC's wife(best friends of the Lees) to be a factor, along with the Yankee money.

I wonder whose house he is living in now, when he was with Seattle he lived in Jamie Moyer's house. When he was in Philly he was living in another players house.

If Lackey can get 17 a year, Lee will get at least 18.

If Cuban's group buys the Rangers, I could easily see them making a move for Lee...

why did they trade Lee away at all in the first place? I didnt get it then and especially now that they trade for another big arm.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the deal take a while? I think I remember them talking about it on MLB Network, like the ownership wouldn't change for a while.

Supposedly Lee is hell bent on testing FA. Halladay was willing to extend.

JMO when guys go after the money they end up moving around more

I was very surprised the Phillies moved him but I guess they weren't willing to do more than 18 million a year - seems to me he could pick his team with a no trade clause if he went down to 15 million a year. But if it's not important enough to negotiate that way he should expect to keep his stuff in moving boxes
