2018 - #7
2017 - #16
2016 - #11
2015 - #9
Not one class in the top 6. 2 classes outside top ten.
Beats Saban by 4 touchdowns.
That is x and o genius at work.

A little misleading. Those middle 2 classes were pretty small but loaded. Clemson doesn't seem to have much attrition I guess.

Yeah that 2017 class they only took 14 players, but the 92.10 average rating was top 4.

Them QBs though
Posted on 1/7/19 at 11:11 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
a legit #1 qb can make a huge difference. We haven't had half of Trevor at qb.

Need to sort by average star ranking and not overall
You're not too smart are you?

Foget the ratings. His coaches know how to game plan and develop a QB.
Steve E said Bureaux had to stop audibles because some players could only remember one play at a time. How is this possible?
I have never heard a coach make such a comment.
How does Clemson get the talent they have, develop it, and their players know more than the one play called?
It is all on the coaches.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago when someone tried to assert that Clemson/Bama wad unfair bc they're scooping up all the talent. Dabo is doing something unbelievable over there. He's developing 3/4 stars and getting them to stay 4 years.

DW4 and TL16. Starts there. Clemson definitely developed its lineman on both sides, but QB play took the teams to the next level.

2018-93.45 avg(4th), 5 5*
2017-92.10 avg(5th), 2 5*
2016-90.30 avg(7th), 1 5*
2015-89.12 avg(13th),3 5*
i think they did alright by average. Its better to look at that.
Plus this is the number of 5* that teams have brought in over that four year period, and the 2019 ones in parentheses. They bring more top tier talent that almost anyone else in college football.
1.Alabama-15(3)
2.Georgia-15(5)
3.USC-12(2)
4.Clemson-11(2)
5.Ohio State-10(3)
6.Florida State-9(1)
7.LSU-6(3)
8.UCLA-6(0)
9.Penn State-4(1)
10.Auburn-3(1)
10.Texas-3(0)
10.Texas A&M-3(2)
10.Ole Miss-3(0)
10.Michigan-3(1)
10.Stanford-3(0)

Clemson and Dabo's strategy has always seemed to get elite 5* guys at top offensive positions, like QB and WR, then build and develop a bunch of 4* guys into great players.
Watson was a huge 5* recruit as was Lawrence. I remember Sammy Watkins being a super recruit also.
If you always have a great QB, which they have for a long time now, you can lift a lower recruiter to beat a more talented team.
It's seems having an A+ DC also helps.

OUs defenses were really bad with him. It's an impressive turnaround for him.

Clemson wasn't athletically inferior to Alabama at all.
Too much baying at the altar of recruiting services. Being accurate isn't how they make their $...selling subscriptions is.
