A VAST majority of the kids who play 4 games and redshirt are not going to transfer
It will definitely take its toll on the top teams that recruit these top QBs.

These teams will need to figure out how to recruit middle of the pack QBs and develop them into solid backups. It'll be even more difficult to roster 2 potential NFL QBs.

If transferring gets out of hand, I'll have no problem with coaches doing what they can to keep some of these kids.

So who's the favorite to land him?

He's one twisted knee away from being the starter again
And he's 2 TL healthy knees away from potentially being done playing football.

Bryant should do what he thinks gives him the best chance to fulfill his dreams.

Is it? It seems fine.

They need to do something about these transfer situations, though I'm not sure what. Same with the guy from Arkansas.. played in 4 games and then decided to transfer.
That's fine, I don't see why something needs to change, there's nothing wrong with this.

To play devil’s advocate here, that’s the risk that Dabo has when he benched Bryant is hurting his depth. It’s not like Dabo didn’t know this could be an option for Bryant.

That’s why Saban was full of shite and an artist to keep Hurts around. Everyone knew Hurts was conned into staying simply for depth reasons in case Tua was hurt.

Auburn seems like a good place if Stidham goes pro.

Saban and Hurts/his family have most likely discussed the options that Hurts has.

And I'm more than fine with a coach conning a player into staying.

Sure it is, it may not be good for Clemson that he is leaving, but it's good for whatever team he transfers to.

Exactly

And has been stated, for every 1 guy who takes advantage of the rule in this way like Bryant and McCleskey, a whole bunch more younger guys will get valuable playing time with the ability to still redshirt.

Did it help Clemson in this specific situation? No. But overall, this rule does more good for not just players but teams as well.

I keep thinking the minute Bama gets in a close game(though this may not happen all year lol) those 2 or 3 random possessions Hurts gets are going to vanish real quick.

Because he doesn't have to play LSU in the pros!

He could definitely continue the Florida QB tradition of barely being able to complete a forward pass.

Auburn's offense isn't suited for his skill set. The LSU/Auburn game perfectly illustrated that. I'm not saying that he's the best pro prospect in this year's draft. But I do think he'll shine in the combine and will drafted in Day 2.

It’s amazing that no one freaks out when coaches leave for other jobs every year. Don’t see them called entitled or quitters.

Weird.

Since January, 4 QBs have transferred from Clemson. The Trevor effect is a real thing y'all.

How is this going to change recruiting QB's in the future? Clemson lost Hunter Johnson and Zerrick Cooper last year to transfer, and now Bryant is leaving. If Lawrence is hurt, who comes in? Seems like with the propensity of kids to transfer if they don't start, you start thinking about bringing in a smart 3* every other recruiting class just in case.
