Not all sports are created equal.
Football makes almost all that money.
I dont Think people think that the swim team should make money, but Title 9 is another animal.

It has to be literally exhausting to be as stupid as you project yourself to be on this message board. I don’t understand how you are able to function in life on a daily basis.
I mean for fricks sake, you’re crying in this thread because Clemson “came out ahead” with regard to the compensation this player listed he received. No shite Sherlock. If Clemson, or any other business/entity/sector/whatever other term you want to use spends more money than it makes, it will cease to exist. That’s beyond basic. Literally every business, whether it’s clemson athletics, Walmart, kpmg, the dry cleaners on the corner, etc. comes out ahead when compared to its employees. That’s why it’s a business.
Other avenues to a professional sports career are available to every athlete in the ncaa. The vast majority of them just tend to not take advantage of them.
The academic services provided for free to athletes at schools big enough to make money go far and beyond what an avg student would get from a private tutor they paid for.

Tutoring is required and mandatory

some “benefits” that don’t cost the schools jack shite.
Let’s ignore the fact that you’re compketely wrong about both “benefits” and their costs for a minute.
In what world is it at all relevant how much it costs person a to provide something beneficial free of charge to person b?

It won't happen from the schools or the NCAA because it's not feasible with Title IX. It's pretty simple.
The amateurism rules are strong but the NCAA is subject to the Sherman Act. Change is coming

If none of that shite costs money then why do so few athletic departments turn a profit?
That’s title IX’s fault. Making schools provide women’s teams and paying for travel of the women’s lacrosse team is not a tax basis for a football player whose jersey and gate revenue generates revenue. Scholarships don’t cost a school anything.

Explain how they dont? They get the most advanced sports training available. Those S&C departments have machines worth more than most of those kids will ever make in a year. They can go to the trainers any time they want and train, get treatmemt etc. Daily for 4-5 years. I ask you how much is that worth if you were paying for it?
Tua for instance, got a surgery that is unavailable to the general public, or anyone not associated with Alabama,(which in my eyes should be a violation) and then slept in a hyperbaric chamber to heal. How many joe blows are getting that?
They don't have the opportunity to get individualized training 2 hours a day. No team has that kind of staff.

So the books they buy, the meal plans they give, the apartments they pay rent for, the medical treatments they cover, the equipment they hand out, the travel arrange, etc. The schools are getting all that stuff for free?
What about the cost of attendance stipends? Is the federal reserve just sending these schools pallets of Benjamin’s to be handed out for that?

If CFB is "not fair" nobody is putting a gun to anybody's head making them do it. Just do something else.

That’s just completely wrong and incorrect. A common theme in this thread and in general for people that take the side your taking in this argument.

meh, yeah he got that stuff. He still wasn't fairly compensated.
It’s interesting that so many high school athletes are falling over themselves to position themselves for this crappy “play ball to go to school for free deal”.
Maybe you’re right, they’re all dumbasses.

How arrogant. So what's you're saying is that you (most likely not an NCAA athlete) knows what's better for this gentleman than he knows?
That's how arrogant you are?

His semantics are even incorrect. The size of training and strength/conditioning staffs at the kinds of places being talked about in this thread are ridiculous.

Dude obviously it isn’t one on one but these S&C coaches and staff are everywhere. You also get individual attention at you “major” of football. How much would people pay for Meyer or Saban or Patterson coach them individually
Add in a nutritional staff and you get a ton of value as a student athlete. I was a non revenue athlete and we got tons of perks

Oh ok. Somehow I just don't believe 95% of the college sports would pay more than what the athletes get in benefits per year.
