This right here. Clay Travis is a grifter pure and simple. Thats his business and i dont care one way or another. All i know is years ago he used to be a regular on the Chris Vernon Show here in Memphis and during some tragedy (Boston Marathon bombing, Sandy Hook or something like that) he "dropped the act" as he put it to address whatever was going on. This was like 15 years or so ago so he wasnt as brash then but was still working the shock jock angle.

because 15 years ago he was a relative nobody. he had written Dixieland Delight but he wasn't a professional troll at that point in his career. 15 years ago was around the time he got his first gig on the radio

He didn't start leaning into the conservative side of social issues until he realized most of his audience was conservative and he got more attention trying to be an even more over the top Rush Limbaugh. Clay isn't dumb. He knows exactly what he's doing and has monetized the character he plays very well.

"This was sometime between the year 2011 and 2014 when Vernon had his 11 to 1 slot on the radio ". I know youre from around here so im fairly confident you know the time frame im talking about but go on with your bad self
