Just thought of another question.
Are there places in the tailgate lots to buy decent food (read: BBQ)? Or do we need to bring our own?

It is all the same but I am partial to lots F an G becasue thats where we always tailgate
We need to enter the HyVee gate, so it looks like we're gonna be in F and G as well (assuming they direct to you to parking by which gate you enter). We'll be the guys in Packer gear.

You are going to be watching a glorified pre-season game. Chiefs have six starters out for the game due to injuries. (Mahomes, Clark, Jones, Wylie, Fisher, and Fuller) Last I saw the point spread was Packers -3.5. If you can still get that bet your 401K. Chiefs without their two best defensive line members and one of their best cornerbacks against Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers will have a better game this week than he had last week and he had a perfect quarterback rating last week. NBC should beg the NFL to let them flex this game out of prime time.

Back from the weekend, a few thoughts on the overall experience, through pictures and prose.
First night, hit Strange Days Brewing for a flight (cute bartender was working) and then ubered over to Slap's BBQ. Great BBQ, though the brisket was suprisingly the least impressive of the 6 different meats we tried (sausage was best). The KC Dunkel was disgusting.
A Chief's fan at the tailgate said he was proud of us for finding the non-touristy great BBQ. Also said that Packer fans were fun and welcome any time, but Raider fans are never welcome.
After dinner, stumbled to 403 Club, which was right up our alley. Really great townie bar with a bunch of pinball machines. Went straight brown to start because any carbonation would've made us puke. Pinball tourneys engaged.
Saturday, Power and Light District was completely overrun by Badger/Packer fans to watch the buttsecksing. Completely filled 4 bars and much of the center beer garden. Ohio State is good.
From there we proceeded to hit Casual Animal Brewing, Brewery Emperial, City Barrel Brewing, and then jumped an uber out to Boulevard Brewing. YOLO. City Barrel had the best of the small breweries, Boulevard was good. Nice facility.
No pics as they were basically all my beers to check in to FBD.
Sunday had breakfast at Happy Gillis, which was right around the corner from our place. Really tasty.
Tailgate...really easy to get into but the way they park cars (or make that, don't park cars) is a fricking free for all. Tailgate, engaged. It wasn't as crazy or rowdy or energetic as I expected. Mostly just a couple people with a grill hanging out and maybe a tailgate tent. But maybe we were in the wrong spot (F24).
Lots of Packer fans everywhere so we tried to park by a bunch. We don't frick around when it comes to pregame.
Not us, but I still respect that these guys potentially drove that thing from some far flung locale.
Chiefs fans around us were all friendly and we got to know a bunch of them over the course of the afternoon. Randy across the way gave us some great grilled pork, his cute college aged daughter drank some of our booze, the fellas sucking down heaters all day right next to us gave us a rib and chatted us up, and the people in game were also our friends before the end of the game. A lot of mixed Packers/Chiefs groups...including our girl Molly, seen her flipping me the bird.
Stadium itself and the environment. Stadium is definitely no frills but was easily navigated. Sight lines are really good and the crowd is loud. Not as loud as I expected, but we were in the rafters.
I think there were a lot more packer fans mixed in than I realized during the game, because the yellow blended in, but you could get a sense when the stadium started to clear out. You could definitely hear them during the game though.
No issues after the game. We stayed and drank in the parking lot to let it clear out and try and give away all our booze and beer. We somehow finished an entire 1.5L of captain in addition to all the beers we drank, and my brother didn't drink that much because he was driving. I think these two Packer fans were the last two pours of the bottle. She was cute, or maybe I was just hammered (the one on the left).
All in all, a really fun weekend. I wasn't impressed with the city, but the game was great. Excellent weather and a Packer W didn't hurt anything.
tl;dr - Drank a bunch of beer and had fun watching the Packers in KC.
