I haven't seen Ottawa or Toronto, but that is incredibly hard to believe.

I thought i saw Ovechkin both block a shot and in the defensive zone.

I had tickets to Wicked last night, so I didn't get to watch the game live. got home a little before midnight and cranked up the condensed game.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

-- The Rags top line was thoroughly dominated. The Caps top line scored two, including one on the prettiest damn stretch pass you ever saw.

-- Score effects, man. The Rangers tilted the ice pretty heavily in the third, which is a lot less stressful when you're watching it knowing the Caps won, but geez. Keep the pedal to the floor guys. OTOH, when you're biggest complaint is that you didn't like how the team protected a two goal lead, then you're having a good night.

-- HOLTBEAST. Cool, collected, and made the biggest save of the night early in the 2nd on a breakaway. Rangers score there and its a totally different game, with the Caps down 2-0. Holtby outplayed Lundqvist. And he's just so cool. He leaned against the post after a big save and during the late replay, he mouthed "what took you so long?" when they waived off the goal. Just the cockiest son of a bitch on earth. You want that in a playoff goalie.

-- That penalty kill. My God.

-- For your viewing pleasure, captain on captain action:

Holtby is the most arrogant goaltender I've seen since Roy, and I love it.

Sidney Crosby out for the morning skate on his usual line 1 with Kunitz and Dupuis and in the #1 PP unit.

Welcome back Sid!

waking up this morning in Amman, Jordan and seeing the Caps won makes this trip a lot less painful...

Let's win Game 2 and put the pressure on...

Losing these type of games suck but I still love them. Great first 2 games. We just need to even it up in LA

This. As a hockey fan I appreciate the quality of the first two games, but as a Kings fan that loss last night was tough to take. Still, you play to win four, not two. It's not like before these two games LA hadn't dominated STL. Time to get back to it.

The good news for the Kings is that they can even the series if they take care of business at home. The downside is they absolutely have to, and have no margin for error. Losing the first two on the road isn't a complete deal killer, but you're a loss away from it being one. It's not like the Blues dominated those games.

The Blues really turned it up in the 3rd period. You could feel they were playing with a sense of urgency.
