Im sorta shocked by it, given everything that has happened with the Fire, and their move to the city.

Went to Saints game there about 8 years ago. There is nothing wrong with the stadium. Nice location. Drew lit their asses up and we went out on lake after the game. Great time.

Where Soldier Field is is perfectly safe for Chicago.

LINK ]Fox 32 Chicago: Family walking along Mag Mile in Chicago robbed at gunpoint

CHICAGO - Crime can happen anywhere in Chicago, but it has become more and more frequent downtown.

There were three armed robberies Tuesday night, two of which were along the Magnificent Mile. One was at Michigan and Grand, and the other took place at Superior and St. Clair.

The third robbery took place in the South Loop on Cullerton.

At about 10:44 p.m., a family of four was on Grand Avenue when a black vehicle pulled up. Four males got out of the vehicle, three of which had guns.

The suspect then robbed all family members of their wallets and cell phones.

Then, a person near Northwestern Memorial Hospital was robbed by a group of men traveling in a stolen black Honda Civic

Chicagoans and tourists are now concerned about safety in areas where usually, they would not worry.

The robbers are described as males in their teens or early 20s, wearing all black clothing and masks.

Similar armed robberies have occurred in Old Town and other parts of the South Loop.

Suburbia is fine in some cities like Dallas. But, it's not right for Chicago. Lambeau will be one of the few old school places remaining.

I grew up about 20 minutes from there, would be an excellent location. Went to Soldier Field for a Bears game in 2019 and it was the worst stadium experience ever. Tried to take a piss at half time and was stuck in a mass of people for 40 minutes. Stadium is way too small.

If they don't own Soldier, I guess I get it. It just would be such a major change for a traditional franchise.

This makes sense. Soldier field has way too small of a footprint. The Bears can really cash in with Arlington given that they can have a bigger stadium and get revenue from parking and tailgate space.

My guess is that a doomed stadium in Arlington would be worth billions in that you can have super bowls, final fours, monster truck shows, Taylor Swift concerts and the like.

What would be cool would be an arena at the Soldier Field site for the Bulls and Blackhawks. The United center is getting dated and an arena at the Soldier Field site offers better revenue opportunities. A 25,000 seat arena with luxury boxes.

Soldier Field is too small for a city the size of Chicago.

That sucks - Soldier Field is an amazing venue with an incredible location and history. Sad that they’d sacrifice that legacy for like $2 million extra in parking revenue and $10 million extra in suite revenue per season.

Fenway Park and Wrigley have the same issues and it would have been a fricking crime to relocate to newer roomier stadiums.

Bears should just raise prices and stay in Soldier and play up its history

They killed that history when that crooked, luxury suite laden U.F.O. landed on that sucker during the last remodel.

Why should Chicago have the smallest NFL stadium?

Good for them. The renovation to Soldier Field was a crime. Looks like a giant space station. Plus, a B1G title game in a domed stadium in Chicago would be the bomb. I’m assuming Chicago wants in on that CFP national title game, Final Fours and Super Bowls. Smart move by them

Just looking at Apple Maps on my iPad, a dream scenario for Chicago would be to build a “Jerryworld” not quite a mile west from Soldier Field on the brownfield site on the east bank of the Chicago River. Then cap the rail yards on the west side of the river for exhibition space, restaurants, hotels, and parking.

Old Soldier Field then could be turned over to the Chicago Fire, soccer, and other outdoor events. New dome for NFL, Final Four, Super Bowl, failed Olympics bids, etc.
